Bobby McFerrin is best known as the singer of 1988’s bubbly “Don’t Worry, Be Happy.” But that annoying hit represents only one side of this prolific performer, who’s been making records for 25 years. He’s collaborated with jazz giants like Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock, as well as with classical cellist Yo-Yo Ma. At tonight’s concert with the Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra, McFerrin will conduct classical works by Mozart and others. He’ll also make a bunch of funny noises with his mouth. “He really is a renaissance man,” says concert organizer Anne Griffith. “His influences come from jazz, folk, world music, choral music, and a cappella. It’s amazing how versatile he is.”

You'll get an idea just how flexible McFerrin can be at tonight’s show, which includes performances of Mozart’s Symphony No. 7, Ravel’s “Le Tombeau de Couperin,” and Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Capriccio Espagnol.” After the orchestra leaves the stage, McFerrin will dazzle the audience with some of the vocal aerobics he’s most famous for. Says Griffith: “That’s when he’ll kind of go wild and do what he wants.”

1. John - 2 stars - I was really disappointed with the Magic of Lights at Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds. The light displays were underwhelming and lacked creativity. It felt like they just put up a bunch of random lights without any thought or design. The ticket prices were also quite expensive for what you got. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this event to anyone looking for a magical light show experience.

2. Sarah - 1 star - My visit to the Magic of Lights at Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds was a complete letdown. The displays were boring and repetitive, with nothing unique or exciting about them. The whole experience felt like a waste of time and money. Additionally, the organization and flow of traffic were poorly managed, resulting in long waits and frustration. I left feeling extremely disappointed and wouldn't visit again.

3. Mike - 2 stars - I expected more from the Magic of Lights at Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds. The light displays were lackluster and didn't capture the magic and excitement that I was hoping for. It seemed like they put more effort into promoting the event than actually creating a memorable experience for visitors. The amount of traffic and crowds also made it difficult to fully enjoy the displays. Overall, I was underwhelmed and wouldn't recommend this event to others.
