For Ren Kouen, these principles remain unalterable law, no matter how the phantoms of the past try to make him doubt his convictions.

- Comments: As with all of Vathara's works this is clever and re-imagines the original media as it would actually be lived by real characters going through those lives and making those choices. Just about the only "High-School AU" I can manage because the stakes are raised rather than trivialised - the characters face death and disaster not prom. Although probably there will be a prom, and it will be awesome because Sinbad is the Principal. Prom like the Buffy movie had prom.

Follow the adventures of The Black Spirit, who is the new legend of Balbbad's citizens and discover this unexpected hero's past. Alternatively, an AU where Leila left the caravan after her meeting with Aladdin and became a vigilante hero to Balbadd.
- Comments: It's still unclear if Leila did leave Sahsa and the caravan that welcomed her after the first chapter of the manga, but the author seems to have shown it that way. It was dormant for a year before the author took the time to rewrite the story for the grammar.

- Sypnosis: For Want Of A Nail AU. A landslide means Alibaba has to take an alternate route to Balbadd. Just when he's figured out there's something very weird about his knife. (AU from canon - what if Alibaba missed meeting Cassim when he first hit Balbadd? There�s one other AU element, based on something we know is possible in canon; bunnies wanted to play with it. )
- Comments: Really wonderfully written work by Vathara, who comes up with a different direction that Magi could have gone if Alibaba had had time to get his bearings and come up with a course of action before he was ruthlessly guilt-tripped into leading a band of thieves .

- Synopsis: Alibaba lifts Cassim from the slums into the palace. Cassim drags him to the throne. (aka the AU in which Cassim robs the treasury via more white-collar methods and navigates Alibaba through the royal court.)
- Comments: This AU is absolutely perfect, if you love Kassim and light political drama then you should definitely read this! I'm not all that eloquent so my words can't accurately describe how GREAT this fic is, but it's honestly amazing. It's excellent! And did I mention that it is TOTALLY in character? You can really tell that a lot of love was put into this work! Please stranger, IF YOU READ NOTHING ELSE THEN READ THIS!!

- Sypnosis: Fate wasn't meant to be changed. But a wish made by a young king sends him back in time, resulting four souls from our world to be reborn as influential players to this version of fate. Enter: The Ghost, The Warrior, The Princess, and The Liar as they play the game of politics to help the king prevent the doomed future he traveled back in time to fix. Multiple SI/OCs.
- Comments: By far, this had been considered as one of the best stories in the Magi fandom involving an OC, or a self-insert in that matter, the characters were well characterized and balanced, the author also tried her best to make sure that all characters, including those from canon get to be able to catch up and take levels in badassery.

- Synopsis: Modern AU. At first, Hakuryuu's not exactly sure how he'll survive with a lazy, inconsiderate roommate, but eventually he warms up to Judal until he can't imagine their apartment without him.
- Comments: Whether you view Judal and Hakuryuu's relationship as romantic or platonic, this fic is adorable and perfectly captures their relationship. It's funny, heartfelt, and completely in-character.

The characters are IC, it has a very good worldbuilding (one of my favourites faes au) and the romance's timing is almost perfect. And it has a very real plot but the story is slowly showing it, so if you aren't into that please don't read.
