By admin

Little Witch Nobeta is a video game developed by Pupuya Games, released in 2020. It is an action-adventure game that combines magical abilities, exploration, and combat. The game follows the story of a young witch named Nobeta, who has lost her memories and embarks on a journey to uncover her past. In Little Witch Nobeta, players take on the role of Nobeta as she navigates through various levels, solving puzzles, defeating enemies, and unlocking new abilities. The game features a unique combat system that allows players to unleash powerful spells and utilize different magic skills. As players progress, they can upgrade and customize their abilities, making Nobeta more powerful and versatile.

The cathartic process of trial and error in the Soulslike genre never grows old for me, and if you’re a fan, too, you’ll undoubtedly have fun here. Granted, the low amount of bosses is disappointing, but that also makes each encounter far more distinct.

For instance, she can jump and attack with her staff in the air to gain additional air time, which is vital for some of the treasures that aren t so straightforward to reach. Arriving at the entrance of a mysterious castle with little more than a vision of a throne and a cat, the game s amnesiac lead is driven to learn about her shrouded past.

Little Witch Nobeta makes for a fun old-school action shooter. It's just a shame that this particular witches' brew is filled with so much unnecessary and bland garnish that serves only to dilute the taste. Read full review

Though it seems like a simple anime dungeon crawler, Little Witch Nobeta is a fun romp with an excellent combat system and fantastic world-building. It also features some great exploration full of plenty of secret rooms and treasures to find and I found myself lost for hours just looking for that next little collectable or scroll to level up my magic. Little Witch Nobeta takes what made a lot of the souls formula great and introduces it to the more casual player. Read full review

Little Witch Nobeta is a surprisingly fun little indie Souls-like title. It has charm and challenge in equal bags, and it even pulls off a competent, if slightly oddly translated, story. It isn't Dark Souls, but fans of the genre would be remiss to pass on this game, especially if they like cutesy anime witches. Thoroughly recommended. Read full review

My only complaint with Little Witch Nobeta is that I wish there was just more of it to enjoy. Even for a Souls-like game, it’s pretty short and I clocked in about 9 hours before the credits rolled. That said, within that time span, I was left consistently impressed by its razor-sharp level design, strong enemy and boss design, and smart application of its unique mechanics. Nobeta may be little, but she leaves a big impression. Read full review

One of the things that I enjoyed was the fact that there are no English voice lines. While some people may want it, I believe that this helps cement the game as being a love note of sorts to anime fans who are on the side of subs over dubs. While I am not educated in the Japanese language, it does appear from conversations and other reviews that the translations are done well, to the point where the full range of emotion is translated to English ears. It would probably be interesting to see how an English voice cast would’ve handled the work. However, I understand why the studio didn’t bother with it.
