Verified Purchase High investment kit, but worth it As a big fan of Knights & Magic, I was very excited to see this kit on the market and had to pick it up as soon as I could. Now that I've received it, spent 2 full days working on it, and had a day to rest and just look at my finished product. I can 100% say it was definitely worth the effort.

However, I must warn those planning to buy this, it WILL require a lot of effort. Unfortunately, Good Smile's MODEROID line doesn't come with the same build quality as Bandai's Gunpla lines. The articulation is fairly limited, especially around the legs, the arms can't manage much more that a 60 degree angle and the legs can barely even move to the sides as they connect to the waist via ball joints, like old high grades would. In addition many parts simply don't hold tightly in their socket and moving them around causes them to simply fall out or pop off, the head being the worst offender.

The swords also come premolded in the hands, and the hands themselves are just simple balljoint connections, not much room for flexibility. The front skirt also tends to get the in the way of the upper leg armor, so the legs need to be turned to prevent this from being an issue, but this can also cause that same armor to pop off.

On top of the limited articulation, this kit comes with a horrendous amount of color inaccuracies. If you're looking for it to match any of the pictures, be prepared for a LOT of painting. I, myself, painted no less than 34 unique segments (175 total segments) of the kit, in order to get each part matching the anime colors as best as I could. And this is before you get to applying the 211 required stickers to get as close to the anime accurate detailing as you can.

Lastly for the coloration issues, the gold that comes with the kit is abysmal. I would recommend cutting out each and every piece that comes in gold, cleaning them up, and then air brushing them all with a nicer, more solid gold color instead. You can also do this if you want a different shade of blue or an actual black for the joints

Finally there is a lot of gluing recommended for this kit in the instructions, but the only part I actually ended up glueing was the blue section of the front skirt. All the other parts I skipped the glue and it holds together just fine.

Despite these problems, I still think this kit is very solid. The plastic holds all the grooves and small details you would want from it, they're just often in the wrong color. If you're willing to bust out some gundam markers, spray paint, and apply all those stickers, this kit is absolutely worth it for appearance alone. It looks amazing on my shelf, this gets a 7.5 out of 10 for me.

Bonus points: It can stand easily on its own, even holding all of its weapons, with minimal to no wobbling. Very sturdy.

Reviews for "Customization and Personalization: Making Knights and Magic Model Kits Your Own"

1. Sarah - 2/5 - I was really excited to try the Knights and Magic model kits, but unfortunately, I was really disappointed with them. The instruction manual was poorly written and difficult to understand, making the whole building process frustrating and confusing. The quality of the materials used for the kits was also subpar. The pieces didn't fit together properly, and some of them were even warped. Overall, the experience was frustrating and not worth the money.
2. Chris - 1/5 - I had high hopes for the Knights and Magic model kits, but they turned out to be a complete letdown. The kits lacked the necessary details to accurately depict the characters and their weapons. The painting process was also a nightmare, as the paint didn't adhere well to the plastic pieces, resulting in a messy and unappealing look. Additionally, the joints of the figures were flimsy and prone to breaking easily. I would strongly advise against purchasing these model kits.
3. Jennifer - 3/5 - While the Knights and Magic model kits had some potential, they fell short in a few key areas. The instructions were unclear and lacked detailed illustrations, making the assembly process confusing. Some parts were also difficult to attach, and I had to use excessive force, which led to breakages. The final result didn't live up to my expectations either, with some of the figures looking awkward and poorly proportioned. Overall, these kits require significant improvements to be satisfactory.
4. Mike - 2/5 - I found the Knights and Magic model kits to be disappointing overall. The plastic used for the pieces felt cheap and brittle, making it easy to break them during assembly. The kits also lacked intricate details and didn't accurately represent the characters from the series. The decals provided were of low quality, and numerous attempts were needed to apply them without them peeling or tearing. Considering the high expectations, it's safe to say I won't be purchasing these kits again.
