The girl who shouldn't have had magical abilities

By admin

I never thought that a simple act of kindness would lead to such chaos. It all started with a stranger asking for directions. She seemed lost and confused. Unable to resist her pleading eyes, I decided to help her out. Little did I know that this encounter would change both our lives forever. Her name was Emily, a tall and slim girl with curly brown hair and a whimsical smile.

Really Sticky Glue

advertisement
  • What It Does: Renders a target unable to move for 10 seconds. (1 minute cooldown, 10 uses)
  • Requirements: Level 5, Horde Only Quest
  • How To Get It: Complete the "A Solvent Spirit" quest, obtained from Master Vornal in Sen’jin Village, Durotar, Kalimdor.
  • Why It’s Cool: Whether you are wandering the world searching for glory, or in battlegrounds aiming to slay the competition, stymying enemy movement is a potent way to either get your way, or get away. While the Really Sticky Glue only has 10 uses, and the quest cannot be repeated, meaning you should conserve use of the Really Sticky Glue for when you truly need it, it can easily save you from grim death if used in clutch situations.

Noggenfogger Elixir

  • What It Does: Random Effect: Grants Slowfall effect (Duration: 2 minutes), shrinks user (Duration: 30 minutes), or turns player into a skeleton, extending underwater breathing (Duration: 30 minutes)
  • Requirements: Level 35
  • How To Get It: Purchased from Marin Noggenfogger after completing the “The Thirsty Goblin” quest chain in the town of Gadgetzan, Tanaris (available for both factions).
  • Why It’s Cool: It turns you into a skeleton. If you can’t see how cool that is, I can’t help you. Shrinking is also extremely cool. While the Slowfall effect is undoubtedly the most useful (especially in areas with cliffs), it is by far the least cool effect. But two out of three ain’t bad.

Light of Elune

  • What It Does: A single use item, this quest reward can be consumed to grant TOTAL IMMUNITY from all damage and spells for 10 whole seconds!
  • Requirements: Level 20 Alliance Only Quest
  • How to Get It: The quest rewards comes from the Ashenvale quest, Mage Summoner, which is the second quest from a chain given by Sentinel Velene Starstrike at the Silverwind Refuge in southern Ashenvale. After killing some elementals, she'll send you into enemy territory to kill an undead mage at the top of Dreadmisk peak in the center of the Barrens - watch out for Horde players!
  • Why It's Cool: Though it's likely an item you'll either use immediately or be too afraid to use at all, the Light of Elune is basically a free paladin shield, allowing you to survive what would otherwise be a lethal attack. Use it to survive an elite enemy, confuse PvP opponents, or save it for a raid boss - as long as you don't stash it in your bank forever!

Savory Deviate Delight

  • What It Does: On it's own, eating a raw deviate delight can give you a bunch of random effects, though many of them are a bit questionable. They include:

Feign Death (Duration: 2 minutes)
Restore roughly 30% Rage (Bear Druids and Warriors only)
50% increased casting speed (Duration: 1 minute)
Become Feared (Duration: 5 seconds)
Turns player into green jelly (Duration: 10 seconds)
Restore Health

However, by obtaining the coveted recipe for the Savory Deviate Delight, you'll be able to unlock two different transformation effects that change how your character looks regardless of your race:
Turns player into a pirate (Duration: 60 minutes.
Turns player into a ninja (Duration: 60 minutes)

  • Requirements:
    Cooking: Level 85
    Recipe: Savory Deviate Delight
  • How To Get It: Obtain Deviate Fish from fishing in The Barrens (specifically the oaises and the Wailing Caverns dungeon, purchase Mild Spices from trade skill vendors, and get the recipe as a random drop from enemies in The Barrens.
  • Why It’s Cool: As with the Noggenfogger, transformation items are rare, and the longer they last, the cooler they are. Don’t you want to kill Ragnaros (or your PVP rival) as a pirate? That’ll show ‘em. Just because it's located in Horde territory, doesn't mean Alliance players have to miss out on it - find a place to kill monsters in the barrens in peace, or buy it from the goblin auction house!

Carrot on a Stick

  • What It Does: Increase mounted speed by 3%.
  • Requirements: Level 40
  • How To Get It: Pick up the Gahz’rilla quest from Wizzle Brassbolts in The Shimmering Flats, then journey south to Tanaris and enter Zul’Farrak. While you are inside the dungeon, make your way to the northeast corner and ring the gong next to the pool to summon Gahz’rilla. Kill it and return it’s electrified scale to Wizzle to obtain the Carrot on a Stick.
  • Why It’s Cool: While you are mounted, you move at the same speed as everyone else on the same level mount, meaning you can’t really catch up to that pesky hunter who ganked you seven times (UGH) unless you cleverly outmaneuver them through the zone, or you have a way to increase your speed. The Carrot on a Stick is one of an extremely limited number of ways to increase mounted speed, so use it to coax a bit more out of that undead horsey. GIDDYUP!

Dartol's Rod of Transformation

  • What It Does: Transform the player into a Furbolg (Duration: 3 minutes)
  • Requirements: Level 28, Alliance Only Quest
  • How To Get It: Pick up and complete the first four parts of the Raene’s Cleansing quest chain from Shael’dryn in northern Ashenvale, Kalimdor. DO NOT COMPLETE THE QUESTLINE OR YOU WILL LOSE THE ITEM!
  • Why It’s Cool: Reading through this list, you may notice a trend; we are extremely into transformation items. Not only are we into transforming, but we’re also huge fans of big cuddly bears, and there are few races on Azeroth more cute and cuddly than those waddling Furbolgs. Transform yourself and enjoy three minutes of care-free forest life!

Slumber Sand

  • What It Does: Puts the target enemy to sleep for up to 20 seconds. Only one target can be asleep at a time, and any damage caused to the target will awaken them.
  • Requirements: Level 6, Horde Only Quest
  • How To Get It: Complete the first two parts of the “A New Plague” quest chain, obtained from Apothecary Johaan in Brill, Tirisfal Glades, Eastern Kingdoms.
  • Why It’s Cool: Like the Really Sticky Glue, the Slumber Sand may be a limited use item, but the effects are powerful. If you aren’t a Mage, you probably don’t have access to reliable crowd control abilities that work on every enemy type, so you’ll need to scrape out an advantage where you can. The Slumber Sand can make it possible to get away from tough enemies and heal up or cause havoc in battlegrounds, the choice is up to you.

Cannonball Runner

  • What It Does: Summon a cannon which fires at enemies in front of it who are attacking you.
    Duration: 10 seconds
    Cooldown: 5 minutes
  • Requirements: Level 56
  • How To Get It: Random drop from Cannon Master Willey in Stratholme
  • Why It’s Cool: Automated attacking items are extremely rare, and this one has a fairly high drop rate from Cannon Master Willey. As an added bonus, the Cannon Master is an easy boss to kill in Stratholme, so you can farm for it easily with a few friends. Then each of you can summon your cannons for a little extra damage during fights, or just to harass people in PVP.

Orb of Deception

  • What It Does: Transforms the user to look like a predetermined member of the opposing faction.
    Duration: 10 minutes
    Cooldown: 30 minutes
  • Requirements: Level 54
  • How To Get It: The Orb of Deception is a random drop from a number of rare spawns, bosses, and enemies, including the following:
    Mushgog
    Skarr the Unbreakable
    Lethon
    The Razza
    Scholomance Occultist
    Jed Runewatcher
    Blackhand Summoner
    Death Singer
    Crypt Crawler
    Cobalt Scalebane
Colossus of Ashi, Regal, and Zora
  • Why It’s Cool: The transformation fever strikes again, and this time it’s personal. Transform yourself into a member of the opposing faction with the Orb of Deception. If you are Undead, you’ll become a Night Elf, Trolls become Dwarves, Tauren become Gnomes, and Orcs become Humans (and vice versa). Although you may plan on using this to trick enemies in PVP, it doesn’t change the color of your name, and you will appear using an unusual combination of armor items, meaning players in the know will be able to spot you a mile away. Still, walking a mile in another faction’s shoes is fun.

Piccolo of the Flaming Fire

  • What It Does: Causes nearby players to dance uncontrollably. (Cooldown: 1 minute)
  • Requirements: Level 53
  • How To Get It: Random drop from Hearthsinger Forresten (Stratholme, Eastern Plaguelands, Eastern Kingdoms)
  • Why It’s Cool: While forcing people to do things against their will is absolutely terrible in real-life, forcing people to take part in impromptu dance parties in a video game is one of the coolest things you could ever do, and the Piccolo of the Flaming Fire lets you do just that. If you are Level 53, head to Stratholme and grab this potent piccolo.

Gordok Ogre Suit

  • What It Does: “Disguise yourself as one of the Gordok ogres, and maybe even fool a particular captain in the process! The suit will only hold together for 10 minutes.”
  • Requirements: Level 55
  • How To Get It: Complete the quest and obtain the leatherworking/tailoring recipe from Knot Thimblejack.
  • Why It’s Cool: This suit lets you transform yourself into an Ogre, which is already incredibly cool, but this transformation item also lets you skip one of the Dire Maul bosses, allowing you to increase your dungeon-end rewards (once the wing is unlocked).

Tidal Charm

advertisement
  • What It Does: Stuns target for three seconds (Cooldown: 15 minutes)
  • Requirements: Level 36
  • How To Get It: Random drop from rare spawn, Prince Nazjak (Found in the ocean south of Stromgarde Keep, Arathi Highlands, Eastern Kingdoms)
  • Why It’s Cool: Like the Really Sticky Glue and the Slumber Sand, this object gives you another way to deal with pesky threats. Use it and give yourself a three second window to heal, deal extra damage, or begin your tactical retreat. Use it wisely.

Furbolg Medicine Pouch

  • What It Does: Held in Off-Hand Slot, +10 Stamina, Restores 100 Health every second for 10 seconds (Cooldown: 20 minutes)
  • Requirements: Honored with Timbermaw Furbolgs
  • How To Get It: Complete quests and kill opponents until you reach Honored with the Furbolgs, then purchase it from Gorn One Eye (Northeast of Felpaw Village, Felwood, Kalimdor)
  • Why It’s Cool: This item provides incredibly powerful healing for lower level players and PVP twinks, but you’ll need a high-level friend to help you farm the rep required to purchase it.

Magic Dust

  • What It Does: Puts the enemy target to sleep for up to 30 seconds. Any damage caused will awaken the target, and only one target can be slept at a time. (Cooldown: 1 minute)
  • Requirements: Level 10
  • How To Get It: Random drop from Dust Devils (Westfall, Eastern Kingdoms), Farmer Solliden (Tirisfal Glades, Eastern Kingdoms), Morgaine the Sly (Elwynn Forest, Eastern Kingdoms), or Watch Commander Zalaphil (Durotar, Kalimdor)
  • Why It’s Cool: Like the Slumber Sand, this item puts people to sleep for a maximum of a whopping 30 seconds, letting you make a clean getaway if you get in over your head. You can also use that 30 seconds to taunt your opponent, but that’s up to you.

Barov Peasant Caller

  • What It Does: Calls forth 3 servants of the House Barov that will fight, cook, and clean for you (Cooldown: 10 minutes)
  • Requirements: Level 52
  • How To Get It: Complete the “Barov Family Fortune” quest chain, ending in “The Last Barov,” obtained from Alexi Barov for Horde players (Location: Southeastern corner of Tirisfal Glades, Eastern Kingdoms), or Weldon Barov for Alliance players (Southern region of Western Plaguelands, Eastern Kingdoms)
  • Why It’s Cool: While it would be cool to have servants to cook and clean, these rough-and-tumble butlers (and butleresses?) will help you out when you get into scrapes. Call them for help in battle and run roughshod over the competition (they can cause extra havoc in Battlegrounds, or when you get ambushed by the opposing faction in world PVP).

Nifty Stopwatch

advertisement
  • What It Does: Increases run speed by 40% for 10 seconds (Cooldown: 30 minutes)
  • Requirements: Level 35
  • How To Get It: Complete the “This Is Going To Be Hard” quest, obtained from Lotwil Veriatus (Location: Northwestern region of Badlands, Eastern Kingdoms)
  • Why It’s Cool: With a bit of help, you can obtain this trinket 5 levels before you can obtain a mount, but it will give you the same run speed as a mount for 10 seconds, meaning you’ll be able to catch up with people in Battlegrounds, or in world PVP before they have a reliable way to escape. It can also be used to retreat when you get in over your head, which is fantastic, especially when you are in a zone with a distant graveyard. Walking back to your corpse is for chumps.

Thunderbrew’s Boot Flask

advertisement
  • What It Does: Deals 50 Fire damage every second for 5 seconds to all enemies in front of you. Also gets you drunk. (Cooldown: 30 minutes)
  • Requirements: Alliance, Level 40
  • How To Get It: Complete the “Sweet Amber” quest chain, obtained from Grimbooze Thunderbrew in Westfall, Eastern Kingdoms.
  • Why It’s Cool: Acting like a hard-hitting “Cone of Hot,” this gives you a strong AOE ability, which is especially potent if you are a class with difficulty dealing with multiple foes at once. While the cooldown is long, it’s always fun to belch fire. Give it a go!

I endowed the incorrect girl with magical abilities

After successfully guiding her to her destination, Emily turned to me with gratitude in her eyes. It was then that she uttered words that I would later come to regret. "You have been kind to me, stranger. As a token of my appreciation, I shall bestow upon you a magical gift." At first, I thought she was kidding, but then a strange sensation washed over me. Suddenly, I felt a surge of power coursing through my veins. I had been bestowed with magical abilities. It was both thrilling and terrifying. Overwhelmed by this newfound power, I sought answers from Emily. What kind of magic had she given me? How did it work? Who was this girl? But to my dismay, Emily had vanished into thin air, leaving me with more questions than answers. As days turned into weeks and weeks into months, I struggled to harness my magical abilities. I realized that the gift I had received was not ordinary. It was chaotic and unpredictable, often causing more harm than good. Spells would backfire, objects would levitate uncontrollably, and animals would speak in tongues. My initial excitement was replaced with frustration and fear. I never asked for this gift, yet now it seemed that I was forever bound to it. And the worst part? I had no way of undoing it. As time went on, I discovered that my gift wasn't just a burden for me; it affected those around me as well. Friends and family were caught in the crossfire of my misfiring spells. It was clear that I couldn't keep this secret any longer. One fateful day, I decided to seek help from a wise old wizard. He listened to my story with a knowing smile and simply said, "Magic chooses its bearers based on the qualities they possess. It seems that you were bestowed with this gift for a reason. Embrace it and learn to control it." His words struck a chord within me. Perhaps there was a purpose to this gift after all. Maybe I was meant to learn from it and grow as a person. With renewed determination, I set out on a quest to master my magical abilities. It hasn't been easy, but slowly and steadily, I am gaining control over my powers. I no longer fear the chaos they bring, but instead, I see it as an opportunity for growth and self-discovery. Looking back, I realized that by helping Emily that fateful day, I inadvertently helped myself. I was endowed with magical abilities, but more importantly, I was given a chance to explore the depths of my own resilience and perseverance. And for that, I will forever be grateful to the incorrect girl I once crossed paths with..

Reviews for "The girl who wasn't supposed to have magical powers"

- John - 1 star - I found "I endowed the incorrect girl with magical abilities" to be extremely disappointing. The concept of the story sounded intriguing, but the execution fell flat for me. The writing felt forced and the characters lacked depth. It felt like the author was trying too hard to create a unique and whimsical world, but it ended up being confusing and hard to follow. I didn't feel invested in the story or the characters, and I couldn't wait for it to be over. Overall, I was left unsatisfied and wouldn't recommend it.
- Sarah - 2 stars - I had high hopes for "I endowed the incorrect girl with magical abilities" based on the blurb, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. The pacing was off, with slow parts dragging on and uneventful moments felt rushed. The main character felt too perfect and lacked any real development or growth. The world-building had potential, but it felt underdeveloped and left me with more questions than answers. The dialogue was also stilted and unnatural, making it hard for me to connect with the story. In the end, I found it to be a lackluster read that didn't leave a lasting impression.
- Emily - 3 stars - "I endowed the incorrect girl with magical abilities" had an interesting premise, but it didn't fully deliver for me. While the concept of an ordinary girl unexpectedly gaining magical powers was intriguing, the execution fell short. The writing style was average and didn't capture my attention, and the plot felt predictable and lacked originality. The characters were also a bit one-dimensional and didn't feel fully fleshed out. Despite these flaws, the book did have some entertaining moments and managed to hold my interest to some extent. Overall, it was an average read that didn't quite live up to its potential.
- Michael - 2 stars - I was excited to delve into the world of "I endowed the incorrect girl with magical abilities," but it ended up being a disappointing read for me. The writing felt amateurish, with clunky prose and awkward sentence structure. The story lacked depth and didn't explore the magical elements as much as I had hoped. The pacing was also inconsistent, with rushed moments and slow parts that made the reading experience drag. The characters were forgettable and I struggled to connect with any of them. Overall, it was a lackluster book that I wouldn't recommend to others.

The unintended consequences of my magical blunder

The accidental enchantment: bestowing magic upon the incorrect girl
