Once upon a time, in a small village nestled deep in the woods, there lived a young girl named Lily. Lily was known throughout the village for her kindness, compassion, and love for all living creatures. She spent her days exploring the forest, helping her neighbors with daily chores, and spreading joy wherever she went. However, one fateful night, a mysterious old woman appeared on Lily's doorstep. The old woman, with her wrinkled skin and sparkling eyes, claimed to be a powerful witch with the ability to grant people's deepest desires. Intrigued and slightly skeptical, Lily listened as the witch explained that she could transform the young girl into a witch herself.
Let me back up a bit. At the time, I was working at Entertainment Tonight, and I was scheduled to attend a special HANSEL & GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS home video junket at Spectral Motion in the afternoon. Late that morning, Paramount publicist Alan Meier gave me a last-minute call asking if I could bring someone along with me to sit in the makeup chair for a special transformation.
The Glendale, California-based Spectral Motion, founded by Academy Award nominee Mike Elizalde, is one of Hollywood s top makeup and creature effects studios, having created pieces for many of Guillermo del Toro s films including PACIFIC RIM, HELLBOY and HELLBOY II THE GOLDEN ARMY, plus work on MALIGNANT, ATTACK THE BLOCK, R. It s quite an experience watching yourself transform in the mirror into a hideous creature just like the many behind-the-scenes featurettes all of us film fans watch to learn how particular film effects are made.
Intrigued and slightly skeptical, Lily listened as the witch explained that she could transform the young girl into a witch herself. Overwhelmed by curiosity and longing for adventure, Lily agreed to the witch's proposal. Before she knew it, Lily felt a surge of energy coursing through her veins.

As the transformation took place, she could feel her body changing, her skin growing pale, and her eyes turning a shade of piercing green. Once the transformation was complete, Lily stood before the old woman as a full-fledged witch. With her newfound powers, she could now cast spells, brew magical potions, and soar through the night sky on a broomstick. At first, Lily reveled in her newfound abilities. She used her magic to heal the sick, protect the weak, and bring harmony to her village. The villagers marveled at the young witch and hailed her as a hero. Lily basked in the adoration and felt a sense of purpose she had never experienced before. But as time went on, Lily started to notice a change within herself. The immense power she possessed began to corrupt her kind and gentle nature. She became consumed by a desire for more power and control. She started using her magic for personal gain, manipulating situations and people to get what she wanted. The villagers, once enamored with Lily, began to fear her. They saw the darkness that lurked behind her once bright and warm eyes. Lily's heart grew heavy with guilt as she realized the harm she was causing to those she once loved and protected. Deep in her heart, Lily longed to return to her old self, to the days when she spread joy and kindness instead of fear and manipulation. With tears streaming down her face, she sought out the old witch who had changed her life. Begging for forgiveness, Lily pleaded with the witch to reverse the spell and restore her back to the person she once was. The witch, seeing the remorse and sincerity in Lily's eyes, agreed to help her. With a wave of her hand and a few whispered words, the witch undid the spell, and Lily felt her body reverting back to its original form. She looked in the mirror and saw her kind and gentle face staring back at her. From that day forward, Lily vowed to use her experience as a witch as a lesson, a reminder of the importance of staying true to oneself and never letting power corrupt one's soul. She returned to her village, spreading kindness and joy as she had done before. Lily's transformation into a witch taught her that power, when used for the wrong reasons, can have disastrous consequences. It reminded her of the importance of staying grounded and true to one's values. And most importantly, it showed her that true power lies in the ability to bring happiness and light to the lives of others..

I was really disappointed with "Changed into a witch". The plot was confusing and didn't make much sense to me. The characters felt one-dimensional and lacked depth. I also found the writing style to be dry and lacking in emotion. Overall, I found this book to be a major letdown and wouldn't recommend it to others.

I couldn't even finish "Changed into a witch". The story was slow-paced and the dialogue felt forced and unrealistic. The main character was unlikeable and I couldn't connect with her at all. The supernatural elements of the plot were underdeveloped and seemed to come out of nowhere. I was hoping for a gripping and suspenseful read, but unfortunately, this book didn't deliver.

"Changed into a witch" was not what I expected. The pacing was all over the place, with the story dragging at some points and rushing through important moments at others. The writing was average and didn't capture my attention. The world-building was also lacking, leaving me confused about how certain magical aspects worked. I was hoping for a spellbinding read, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations.
