Anamaria, also known as Ana Maria, was a pirate in the movie "Curse of the Black Pearl" from the popular "Pirates of the Caribbean" series. She was played by the actress Zoe Saldana and made her first appearance in the film when the crew of the Black Pearl attacked the town Port Royal. Anamaria was a skilled sailor who had her own pirate ship, the Jolly Mon. However, her ship was stolen by Jack Sparrow, the main protagonist of the series. This led to a bitter rivalry between the two characters. Anamaria wanted to get her ship back and sought revenge against Jack Sparrow.
Anamaria was a tough female smuggler and pirate who operated in the Caribbean. What little is known of her life came largely from her adventures with the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow, who once referred to Anamaria as the "delicate flower of the Caribbean." The Jolly Mon was once Anamaria's boat until it was "borrowed" by Jack Sparrow, who eventually sailed it to the town of Port Royal, where it sank to the bottom of the harbor. Anamaria later reunited with Captain Sparrow when Joshamee Gibbs brought together a ragtag group to help crew the Interceptor. Believing Jack had a debt to repay, she joined the line of sailors and accused him of stealing her boat, adding a couple of slaps for emphasis. In turn, Jack offered the Interceptor, knowing Anamaria was a good sailor and that he needed her onboard. Anamaria sailed the Interceptor to Isla de Muerta during Will Turner's attempt to rescue Elizabeth Swann from Hector Barbossa's cursed crew, but was soon imprisoned with the other crewmen in the brig of the Black Pearl. After taking the Black Pearl, Anamaria served under Jack Sparrow's command, embarking on several misadventures before leaving the crew.
Anamaria sailed the Interceptor to Isla de Muerta during Will Turner s attempt to rescue Elizabeth Swann from Hector Barbossa s cursed crew, but was soon imprisoned with the other crewmen in the brig of the Black Pearl. Still trapped in Port Royal, Anamaria took Jack, Gibbs, and Marty to her family s smuggling headquarters in the town for shelter, with the idea of borrowing another one of her family s boats for transportation in the quest to get the Pearl free.
Anamaria wanted to get her ship back and sought revenge against Jack Sparrow. Throughout the movie, Anamaria continued to cross paths with Jack Sparrow and his crew. She ultimately joined forces with them to fight against their common enemy, Captain Barbossa, and his cursed crew of pirates.

The cursed crew members could not be killed and turned into skeletal forms under the moonlight. Anamaria played a vital role in helping Jack and his allies break the curse by providing them with essential information about the cursed crew's weaknesses. She also displayed her bravery and skills in combat during the final battle against the cursed crew. Although Anamaria did not have a major role in the subsequent movies of the series, her character added depth to the storyline of "Curse of the Black Pearl". Her strong will, determination, and expertise as a pirate helped to create a more immersive and adventurous experience for the viewers..
