Yugioh Amulet Dragon is a powerful fusion monster card in the popular trading card game, Yugioh. It is a Dragon-type monster card with an impressive ATK (Attack) and DEF (Defense) stat. Bringing pride and tradition: UTRGV reveals mascot
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley revealed the look of its new mascot – the Vaquero. The search for a design that would resonate as a symbol of the university and of the Rio Grande Valley began in 2015 with UTRGV Student Activities. The final looks of the mascot costume were voted on - and created - by UTRGV students. A 3-D version of the mascot is slated to be unveiled in fall 2019.
RIO GRANDE VALLEY, TEXAS – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley today unveiled the look of its new mascot – the Vaquero.
The costumed version of the mascot, which will be portrayed by a UTRGV student, is slated to be revealed fall 2019. The mascot will serve as a university ambassador and entertainer at campus and off-campus community events.
Cindy Mata, director of UTRGV Student Activities, said talks among a committee of faculty, staff and students to decide on the Vaquero mascot had been in the works since 2015.
The committee searched for a design that would resonate as a symbol of the university and of the Valley. The looks of the mascot costume were voted on – and created – by UTRGV students.
“Student designers from the theater department helped design the outfit the mascot will wear,” Mata said. “They based the look on our region and did research about real vaqueros. All the costume pieces were designed by our students. And our students also voted for the symbols included on the outfit.”
In April 2018, two options for a mascot look were unveiled, and a poll was created, with more than 2,800 student votes being submitted. The winning look was revealed at a UTRGV Baseball game the following month.
“We really want this mascot to embody school spirit,” Mata said. “It has strong ties to our Valley legacies, too – some pieces the mascot will be wearing link back to our legacies. Everything that was chosen and designed by students ties back into the region.”

1. John - 2/5 - I was highly disappointed with Yugioh Amulet Dragon. The artwork on the card looked promising, but its effect and gameplay were lackluster. Its effect of destroying all other monsters on the field seemed impressive at first, but in reality, it was easily negated by common cards like "Mirror Force" or "Dark Hole." Additionally, its high attack points were not enough to make up for its vulnerability to trap cards. Overall, I found this card to be underwhelming and not worth the hype.
2. Emily - 1/5 - I cannot express my disappointment enough with Yugioh Amulet Dragon. Not only does this card have an incredibly difficult summoning condition, but its effects are subpar compared to other dragon monsters available. Its effect of gaining attack points equal to the defense points of the destroyed monsters sounded good on paper, but in practice, it rarely made a significant difference in battle. Furthermore, there are plenty of other dragon monsters with comparable or better effects that require much less effort to summon. Avoid this card unless you are a die-hard collector.
3. Mark - 2/5 - Yugioh Amulet Dragon was a letdown for me. The card's effect, while potentially powerful, requires too specific of a combination to be consistently useful. The requirement of fusing a dragon-type monster with an amulet-type monster is too limiting, and there are better fusion monsters with less restrictive summoning conditions. On top of that, the artwork on the card was not as visually appealing as I had hoped. Overall, I would not recommend investing in this card unless you are a completionist in your Yugioh collection.
