Horace Grant Magic Horace Grant is a former professional basketball player who is best known for his time with the Chicago Bulls and Orlando Magic. He was a key player in the success of both teams and was known for his tenacious defense and rebounding skills. Grant was born on July 4, 1965, in Augusta, Georgia. He played college basketball at Clemson University before entering the NBA. In 1987, Grant was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the first round and quickly made an impact on the team. During his seven seasons with the Bulls, Grant played alongside Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, forming a dominant trio.

In 1994, Grant signed with the Orlando Magic as a free agent. He played alongside Shaquille O'Neal and Penny Hardaway, forming another dynamic duo. Grant's versatility and defensive prowess continued to shine, and he helped lead the Magic to the NBA Finals in the 1994-1995 season. Throughout his career, Grant was known for his trademark goggles, which he wore due to an eye injury. The goggles became his signature look and added to his unique persona on the court. After his time with the Magic, Grant went on to play for several other teams, including the Seattle SuperSonics, Los Angeles Lakers, and Philadelphia 76ers. He retired from professional basketball in 2004. Despite not receiving the same level of recognition as his teammates Jordan and O'Neal, Grant's contributions to the Bulls and Magic cannot be overlooked. He was a vital part of two championship-winning teams and was respected for his work ethic and team-first mentality. Off the court, Grant has continued to stay involved in basketball. He has worked as a coach and mentor to young players and has been involved in various charitable endeavors.
