The Cubs missed a chance to pad a tiny lead for the third National League wild-card spot by losing to the Pirates 8-6 on Thursday night at Wrigley Field.
This was a costly defeat, as it knocked the Cubs into a tie with the Marlins, who have the tiebreaker by virtue of winning the season series.
The Reds, who were off on Thursday, are a half-game behind the Marlins and Cubs. Also still alive are the Giants, who are three games back, and the Padres, who are four back.
-- The Guardians beat the Orioles 5-2 at home to prevent the Twins from clinching the AL Central on an off day. Minnesota can wrap up the division on Friday night with a win over the Angels or a Cleveland loss to Baltimore.
-- The Rays cut the Orioles’ AL East lead to 1.5 games with a 5-4 win over the Angels coupled with Baltimore’s loss.
-- The Brewers won 6-0 in St. Louis to set up a possible NL Central clinch on Friday. They’ll be the champs with a win at Miami along with a Cubs home loss to the Rockies.

I was extremely disappointed with "The Wagsters Kaviv Theatre Tickets." The show lacked coherent storytelling and the performances were subpar at best. The magic tricks were predictable and unimpressive, and the overall production felt amateurish. I found myself disengaged throughout the entire show and couldn't wait for it to end. Save your money and skip this one.
