Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a poor woodcutter named Jakob. He worked day and night to make ends meet but often struggled to provide for his family. One day, while he was chopping wood in the forest, he stumbled upon a magical pot hidden beneath a tree. Curiosity got the better of him, and he decided to take the pot home with him. Little did he know that this seemingly ordinary pot had the power to grant any wish. As soon as Jakob reached his humble cottage, he decided to test the pot's magic.
When I discovered all of these are found within the Emerald Lakes series from Britt Andrews, I had to pick it up. Now, full disclosure: while I had seen these on KU and was very interested in reading them, the entire series was sent to me by the editor (Thanks Polly!) in the most delightful way. Friends, it was literal pigs who brought together me and The Mystical Piglet. No joke.
Though it is different than other magic systems I veI ve read about before, the book does an excellent job of explaining the magic system without a huge info dump. Their Investment into creating the DISCOVERY on Wheels program, which reaches nearly 12,000 students Pre-K through fifth grade annually, allows us to continue to bring the best discoveries, education, and resources to children, families, and schools for light-years to come.
As soon as Jakob reached his humble cottage, he decided to test the pot's magic. He wished for a table filled with delicious food, and to his amazement, it appeared before his eyes. Overwhelmed with joy, Jakob realized that he could put an end to his family's hunger and poverty.

It will truly be a rocketing experience as we fly you to the moon for an incredible space-themed evening! Embark on a trip through the final frontier with incredibly nebulous décor, a telescopically terrific strolling dinner featuring exquisite culinary delights from each of Resorts World’s coveted eateries such as Carversteak, Fuhu, Brezza, Kusa Nori, Wally’s, and more, as well as totally out of this world entertainment and live performances! The silent auction will be filled with celestial choice items, and the live auction will present several stellar, one-of-a-kind experiences that are sure to be a big bang!

Day after day, he would make various wishes and the pot would fulfill them without fail. But as time went on, Jakob's greed grew, and he began to abuse the pot's power. He wished for extravagant riches, a grand mansion, and even a kingdom to rule. The pot faithfully fulfilled every wish, but it came at a price. Jakob's village suffered as he hoarded all the resources and became consumed with power. The once thriving community started to wither away, and the people pleaded for help. One day, a wise old woman heard their cries and visited Jakob's mansion. She warned him about the consequences of his actions and urged him to use the pot's magic wisely. However, Jakob, blinded by his desires, refused to listen. It was only when his own family expressed their disappointment in him that Jakob realized the error of his ways. With a heavy heart, he wished for the pot to be taken away and its magic eliminated. The pot vanished, and Jakob was left with nothing but the remorse for his past actions. Faced with the consequences of his greed, Jakob decided to make amends. He returned to the village and used the remaining wealth he had amassed to rebuild it. He helped the villagers regain their prosperity and pledged to live a simple and humble life. The tale of the magic pot teaches us important lessons about the dangers of greed and the importance of using power and resources responsibly. It reminds us that true happiness lies in selflessness and in being content with what we have..

1. Sarah - 2/5 stars - I found "The Magic Pot" to be quite disappointing. The storyline was weak and predictable, and the characters lacked depth and development. The writing style was also quite amateurish, with cliched dialogue and overuse of adjectives. Overall, I was not engaged or captivated by this book and would not recommend it to others.

Overall, I felt like I wasted my time reading this book and would not recommend it to others.
