If you're someone who believes in magic or just enjoys the idea of being transported to a world of enchantment, then America has plenty of locations that will make you believe in the extraordinary. From ancient forests to mysterious caves and hidden gardens, these magical places will leave you feeling like you've stepped into a different realm. One such place is the Redwood National and State Parks in California. These magnificent forests are home to some of the tallest trees in the world, reaching heights of over 350 feet. Walking among these majestic giants, with their towering trunks and dappled sunlight filtering through the canopy, feels like being in a fairytale. The quiet stillness of the forest and the sense of awe it inspires is truly magical.

There are sad songs, upbeat songs, romantic songs, but all seem to be pervaded by a sense of urban loneliness and melancholy that is perfectly captured by the album cover.

I Love You So and A Love Affair are both blistering vocal performances, Telephone Number and Perfume could get stuck in your head for hours, Tasogare and Sugao no Mamade are equally powerful and romantic even though they sound nothing alike, and Dancin is possibly the greatest techno track ever made. Dusty Groove does not use the grades of Near Mint or Mint, for that matter because in our experience, we find that no records ever qualify for such a high grade.

Magical is comfortably one of my favorite city pop records. Not everything about this compilation is a win to me—Isn’t it Magic hasn’t entirely won me over as the opener yet, and while there isn’t really a bad track on here, a good percentage of them are pretty much just nice tunes to listen to or go about your work day with.
But that barely matters ‘cause while half of the songs are just catchy, the other half are entirely transcendent. I Love You So and A Love Affair are both blistering vocal performances, Telephone Number and Perfume could get stuck in your head for hours, Tasogare and Sugao no Mamade are equally powerful and romantic even though they sound nothing alike, and Dancin’ is possibly the greatest techno track ever made.
Junko Ohashi’s musical range and talent are too underrated and this comp easily proves why. So many bold and memorable moments that stand alone in an already timeless music genre. If it ever magically (pun intended) gets put on streaming one day I’m listening to it even more than I already do.

Picked this up because of the cover and because it contains 'I Love You So', didn't know it was a compilation. It didn't feel like a compilation either, for two reasons: it maintains a consistent mood throughout, and it has a decent amount of fillers.

'I Love You So' is one of the best (and catchiest) City Pop songs. Other standouts are 'Isn't it magic', 'Perfume' and 'Telephone Number'. There's a number of fillers but they're still pleasant to listen to in the background, and all in all I'd say it's a good album to set the mood when you're cooking dinner for one.

Dusty Groove does not use the grades of Near Mint (or Mint, for that matter) because in our experience, we find that no records ever qualify for such a high grade. Even sealed records tend to have one or two slight faults, enough to usually qualify them for a grade of NM- or lower. We've often found that records which are clearly unplayed will have a slight amount of surface noise, especially in quieter recordings.

As you explore the winding tunnels, you'll be greeted by a spectacular display of stalagmites and stalactites, glittering like crystals in the darkness. The surreal beauty of the caves, with their eerie silence and mysterious formations, will leave you feeling like you're in a mystical underworld. One of America's best-kept secrets is the Garden of Cosmic Speculation in Scotland, Pennsylvania. Designed by landscape architect Charles Jencks, this garden is a whimsical exploration of science, mathematics, and the universe. Filled with striking landforms, spiral pathways, and intricate sculptures, the garden is a visual representation of the laws of nature. Exploring this unique space will make you feel like you've stumbled upon a hidden realm where magic and science coexist. If you're looking for a truly enchanting experience, then a visit to the bioluminescent bay in Vieques, Puerto Rico is a must. This natural wonder is home to microscopic organisms called dinoflagellates that emit a blue-green light when disturbed. Kayaking through the bay at night, with the water aglow with a magical light, is an experience that will leave you spellbound. The sense of wonder and awe that comes from witnessing this natural phenomenon is truly magical. These are just a few of the many magical locations to visit in America. Whether you believe in magic or not, these places will captivate your imagination and transport you to a world where anything is possible. So, if you're up for an adventure filled with wonder and enchantment, pack your bags and set off on a journey to these magical destinations..
