A Curse of Gold by Annie Sullivan Review

After barely surviving thieving, bloodthirsty pirates and a harrowing quest at sea to retrieve her stolen treasure, Kora finds readjusting to palace life just as deadly. Kora’s people openly turn against her, threatening to overthrow her as heir to the throne—a cursed queen who has angered Dionysus. When Dionysus puts out a challenge to kill the girl with the golden touch and burn down her kingdom, it’s not just her future on the throne in danger. Kora’s life and entire kingdom are now on contract.

As bold and brave as ever, Kora sets out to find Dionysus, the very person who is trying to kill her, on the mysterious disappearing island of Jipper. Kora has no other choice. If she wants to save her kingdom and have any chance at reversing her father’s curse, she will have to enter into a deadly game with Dionysus, the greatest trickster the world, or the underworld, has ever seen.

My thoughts:
A Curse of Gold, the second book in the A Touch of Gold series, begins a month after the events of book one with a new threat looming in the horizon. After the castle is attacked by Dionysus’s henchmen, Kora and Royce must once again set sail on the open seas to track down the trickster and put an end to the curse.

I absolutely loved this series! A Curse of Gold was such an amazing end to the story ❤️ If you love action-packed adventure with a little romance thrown in, this is the series for you! I loved Kora’s transformation from the quiet girl who always hid on the shadows to the strong, brave ruler who will do anything to protect her kingdom.

Is it just me? Or is Royce literally THE BEST boyfriend ever? He’s so sweet and stands by Kora no matter what 🥰 *swoons*

A Curse of Gold really reminded me of The Beholder by Anna Bright, especially with the romance on a ship, and the race to save a kingdom. If you liked that book, then you’ll like A Curse of Gold ❤️

Hope you all enjoyed my review! ❤️ I really enjoyed reading this book and I know you guys will too! Have you guys read A Curse of Gold yet? Let me know what you thought of it in the comments 😄 Bye guys, happy reading! x

Reviews for "Get in the Christmas Spirit with Magic 104.1's Yuletide Tunes"

1. Emily - 1/5 stars - I couldn't believe how much I disliked "Magic 104 1 yuletide tunes". The music selection was incredibly repetitive and uninspiring. I was expecting a wide variety of festive songs, but instead, it felt like I was listening to the same few tunes on repeat. Additionally, the sound quality was quite poor, with a lot of background static and distortion. Overall, I found this album to be a major disappointment and definitely not the holiday cheer I was looking for.
2. John - 2/5 stars - "Magic 104 1 yuletide tunes" was just average at best. There were a few standout tracks that captured the holiday spirit, but the majority of the songs felt lackluster and unmemorable. It lacked the energy and excitement I usually associate with Christmas music. Furthermore, the mix of classic and modern songs didn't flow well together and created a disjointed listening experience. I expected more from this album, and unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations.
3. Sarah - 1/5 stars - I was extremely disappointed with "Magic 104 1 yuletide tunes". It felt like a lazy compilation of Christmas songs that lacked any real creativity or originality. The renditions of popular carols were bland and unimpressive, offering nothing new or exciting. Additionally, the overall production value was subpar, with poorly mixed tracks and unremarkable vocals. I was hoping for a fresh take on holiday music, but instead, I was left feeling underwhelmed and would not recommend this album to others.
4. Michael - 2/5 stars - "Magic 104 1 yuletide tunes" failed to capture the magic of the holiday season for me. The song choices felt cliché and predictable, leaving me wanting more variety and surprises. Moreover, the lack of instrumental arrangements and reliance on generic electronic beats made it difficult to feel the warmth and coziness of the season. Overall, this album felt like a missed opportunity to bring joy and excitement, and I was left unimpressed by its lackluster execution.
