Here she finds out she s a witch and falls in love with her neighbor Daniel, but his girlfriend, Maddie, a mean witch and leader of the school team known as The Panthers, will do anything to make Emma suffer.

Paris Smith Talks Maddie Van Pelt and “Every Witch Way” – Exclusive Interview

BSCkids recently were excited to get the opportunity to chat with “Every Witch Way” star, Paris Smith. She spoke with us about her acting and singing career as well as her ever-growing ambitions in the industry!

Paris Smith is amazingly talented for her young age of just 14 years old. She currently captivates fans every week as they tune in for the Nickelodeon series “Every Witch Way.” Smith plays the lead role of Maddie Van Pelt, a popular cheerleader fashionista, who’s sassy, popular, and a witch. Smith’s talent doesn’t stop at acting, which she has been doing since staring theater when she was five years old. She is also a talented singer, dancer, and songwriter. Season 3 of “Every Witch Way” premiered January 5, 2015 on Nickelodeon.

BSCkids: Paris Smith

You play Maddie Van Pelt, on “Every Witch Way.” Do you share any similarities with the character?

I love Maddie as a character and do have many similarities and differences! I love fashion, just like Maddie does and I am obsessed with her wardrobe! I am also a very loyal person and always stick up for myself and my friends, just like Maddie does for her Panthers and Diego! However, I am not as mean and bratty as Maddie can be sometimes, but I love to play her that way because it makes me use my imagination!

Can you tell us anything about the future for your character and Diego?

Throughout the seasons, Maddie and Diego’s relationship has been a roller-coaster! At first, Maddie didn’t really pay that much attention to Diego, but during the 2nd Season Diego brought out a different side in Maddie and I am really glad the fans got to see that. During Season 3, Maddie and Diego are boyfriend and girlfriend and they are hilarious together this season! The fans are gonna love it!

Why do you think the series has been so popular? What do you think makes viewers keep coming back for more?

In my opinion, I feel that a major part in what has made this show successful is the chemistry between the characters and the way it airs. I think the kids and fans love that a new episode airs every night Monday-Friday and it keeps them on their feet! They never know what’s gonna happen next!

You’ve been in the entertainment industry since you were a young child between theater performances, movies and television shows. What has been the most exciting project you’ve worked on?

Omp! Definitely “Every Witch Way”! I love working on this show and I love playing Maddie. Maddie is a character that is very close to my heart and I love filming with all of my cast members! We are such a huge family and I am always laughing on set!

Tell us about your work in the music industry. Have you always wanted to be a singer/songwriter?

Yes! Ever since I was 7 years old I knew I wanted to be a singer, as well as an actress! I love to sing and it’s one of my biggest passions in life! I have a few songs on ITunes, which are Crush on Hollywood, Game Over, and He Says and love that my fans are so supportive of my music career, as well as my acting career! I can’t wait to get back in the studio!

Are there any plans to release a full length album or EP soon?

For 2015, I want to pursue my music much more! I love to sing and can’t wait to get back in the studio! Keep on the lookout on my social media for more info!!

Is it difficult juggling all your extracurricular activities and school? How do you find time to do everything?

It definitely takes a lot of hard work to balance school and acting but it’s totally worth it! You have to be 100% focused on both and I plan on going to college in the future! School is just as big a priority for me as acting and I am always trying to do my best in school, as well!

Between acting, singing, and school, what do you do for fun or to relax? Do you even have time to do that?

I love to go shopping, hang out with friends, go to the beach, and get manicures! Some days, I just love to lay in bed and watch Netflix!

You also support various charities, is there one in particular you are really passionate about?

I am on the Junior Advisory Board for a great organization called The Shoe Crew, which gives shoes to underprivileged kids! I also love animals and another organization that I am passionate about is the ASPCA!

If acting and performing hadn’t worked out, what alternate career choice would you want to be?

If acting, singing, and dancing wouldn’t work out, I would want to be a director, or a writer! I would also love to be a makeup artist, or have my own fashion line!

Do you have any advice for young children or teens who want to break into acting?

Always follow your dreams! Also, never be afraid to be yourself! I learned that when I was myself, that’s when I felt the most free and successful with my work! So always be yourself and, as Taylor Swift would say, “Shake It Off!!” Lol:)

Which actor that have you have previously worked with has been the most inspiring or have you learned the most from?

Do you have any upcoming projects your fans can be on the look out for?

I was on another Nickelodeon show called “React To That” and that was such a blast to film! The crew and cast were amazing on that show and I loved it!
