Winter Solstice: Renewal and Rebirth in the Wiccan Cycle of 2023

By admin

The Wiccan annual cycle of 2023 follows a rhythmic pattern and is deeply connected to the cycles of nature. Wiccans celebrate eight major festivals throughout the year, known as Sabbats. These Sabbats are divided into two categories: the Wheel of the Year and the Greater Sabbats. The Wheel of the Year is comprised of four Sabbats that mark the changing of the seasons. These Sabbats are: 1. **Imbolc**: Celebrated on February 1st or 2nd, Imbolc represents the awakening of the Earth after winter.

Ritual Function: Balance elemental earth energy, and shadow work for the virtues and vices of Virgo.
Sun: Virgo ♍︎
Moon: Virgo ♍︎
Exact Calendar Date: Thursday, September 14, 2023, 9:40 pm.
Suggested Celebration Timing: Thursday, September 14, 2023 prior to exact dark at 9:40 pm.
Planetary Magick by Day of the Week: Waning Jupiter magick.

By contrast, we d celebrate the Grand Sabbats anytime during the week before the peak, because we are using this swelling energy to grow our Great Work intention with the fixed energies of the seasonal high tides. If you re working along with The Pentacle Path of Elemental Witchcraft from my book, the Yuletide begins the calendar year before, after Samhain, which occurs Monday, Nov.

**Ostara**: Occurring on the spring equinox, Ostara celebrates the arrival of spring when day and night are in balance. Wiccans honor the goddess Eostre and focus on the themes of fertility, growth, and new beginnings. 3. **Beltane**: Celebrated on May 1st, Beltane represents the beginning of summer and the peak of fertility in nature. Wiccans honor the god and goddess in their union, and rituals often involve dancing around a Maypole, bonfires, and celebrating the abundance of life. 4. **Litha**: Occurring on the summer solstice, Litha marks the longest day of the year. Wiccans celebrate the power of the sun and the height of summer. It is a time for honoring the god, outdoor rituals, and expressing gratitude for the bounty of the Earth. The Greater Sabba.

- John - 2 stars - I was really disappointed with the "Wiccan annual cycle of 2023." The book lacked depth and was filled with cliches. It felt like a rehash of what I've already read in other Wiccan annuals. The author didn't bring anything new or exciting to the table and I found myself becoming bored halfway through. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone looking for fresh insights or a unique perspective on the Wiccan annual cycle.
