Embracing the Triquetra as a Guide in Wiccan Spiritual Journeys

By admin

Triquetra Wicca, also known as the Triquetra symbol, holds significant meaning within the Wiccan religion. The Triquetra symbolizes the power of three and is made up of three interlocking arcs that form a triangular shape. The word Triquetra is derived from Latin, meaning "three-cornered" or "triangle." In Wicca, the three corners of the Triquetra represent the triple goddess, which consists of the Maiden, Mother, and Crone. These three aspects of the goddess symbolize different stages of life and the cycles of nature. The Maiden phase represents youth, potential, and new beginnings.

Ballet dancers make fairy tale magic

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The City Ballet of Wilmington is bringing Beauty and the Beast to life through music and dance.

The story of a selfish prince cursed to live as a monster and the beautiful girl who breaks the spell is the same, but the company has added some new fairy tale characters such as Little Bo Peep and Red Riding Hood.

"The Beast and Belle go to sort of the ball, but that's the fairy tale characters putting on sort of a show almost mocking themselves, but it's just a little fun thing that Belle and the Beast get to do together," said ballet instructor Kim Paterniti.

The production includes dancers from the age of three all the way up to adult, making it a family-friendly experience.

"We've got Beauty and the Beast which is always a crowd pleaser for the little ones, but then we've also got a really great classical ballet just the way that ours is structured," said Paterniti. "It's pretty professional of a performance."

And of course, that performance includes no spoken word. The dancers have to tell the story through movement.

"It's actually extremely unlike any other art that there is because you do have the movement behind it as well," said Paterniti. "We'll be in the studio almost in tears because it's just those moments have to be so much more expressive because there aren't the words to back it."
