The Curse of Lizzie Borden Lizzie Borden is a name that has become synonymous with mystery and horror. This infamous figure is known for the brutal ax murders of her father and stepmother in 1892. Despite being acquitted in a highly publicized trial, Lizzie Borden was forever marked as a suspected murderer. However, it is not just the crimes themselves that have captured the public's imagination. For many, the curse of Lizzie Borden extends far beyond her trial. The curse is believed to have originated from the gruesome nature of the murders.
The sales model for the game also makes me a little leery. The model looks similar to X-Wing and my forces in X-Wing are not competitive because I did not keep up with buying every miniature to get the best cards.
I certainly have friends who have bought entire game systems for the miniatures alone and Warhammer 40,000 has traded on the fan speculation of which Primarch would beat each other in a fight for some 20 odd years. I am the type of person that would want to collect an equal sized force for the other side in case I ever met someone that wanted to try the game but owned no army.
The curse is believed to have originated from the gruesome nature of the murders. Review: Runewars
In the last days of March, Asmodee sent me a copy of Runewars: The Miniatures Game by Fantasy Flight Games. Originally I had planned to do an unboxing article, but many people also got Runewars at Adepticon so instead, I decided to take my time with this game.

This review focuses only on my thoughts of the game. It does not go deeply into the mechanics of the game or how to play. It does go into what I consider good and bad about the game.
For those that do not know about Runewars: The Miniatures Game, it is a fantasy miniatures combat game that uses mechanics similar to X-Wing and Star Wars Armada. The game itself is very good, and players familiar with the concepts in either of the above two games should be able to grasp this one fairly fast.

Many viewed her as guilty despite the jury's verdict, and she lived the rest of her life as an outcast. Some even believe that she was haunted by the spirits of her family, tormented by their voices and the sound of dripping blood. Many subsequent owners of the Borden family home, known as the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast Museum, have reported strange occurrences and paranormal activity. Visitors have claimed to hear whispered voices, footsteps, and even seen apparitions. Some believe that the spirits of Andrew and Abby Borden continue to haunt the house, seeking justice for their untimely deaths. Others believe that the curse has affected the lineage of Lizzie Borden. It is said that those related to her have faced their fair share of misfortune and tragedy. From untimely deaths and financial ruin to failed relationships and mental instability, the descendants of Lizzie Borden have supposedly suffered the consequences of her alleged crimes. Whether one believes in the curse of Lizzie Borden or not, there is no denying the enduring fascination with her story. The gruesome murders, the highly publicized trial, and the lingering sense of mystery have all contributed to the legend of Lizzie Borden. To this day, the tale of this accused axe murderer continues to captivate and intrigue, leaving many to wonder if the curse is nothing more than an urban legend or a lingering manifestation of a troubled past..
