The Lizzie Borden Conspiracy Theories: Was She Really Alone?

By admin

Lizzie Borden's case is one of the most infamous and mysterious murder cases in American history. Lizzie Borden, a young and unmarried woman from Fall River, Massachusetts, became the prime suspect in the brutal double murder of her father, Andrew Borden, and stepmother, Abby Borden. On the morning of August 4, 1892, Andrew and Abby were found brutally killed in their home. Andrew had been struck multiple times with a hatchet, while Abby had been struck repeatedly with a similar weapon, resulting in their gruesome deaths. Lizzie, who was present in the house at the time, claimed to have been in the backyard during the murder and discovered her father's body upon her return. The investigation into the murders quickly focused on Lizzie as the primary suspect due to inconsistencies in her statements and her strained relationship with her stepmother.

Magic Name: Mystic Eyes (ミスティック・アイズ)

Magic Type: Takeover (Prevalent) , Lost (Auxiliary)

Description: Using an unorthodox form of magic seems to be common for Evan despite him not even knowing his origins. Due to being an orphan, he was never really sure what kind of family could have surrounded him in his youth. However, with the emergence of his Mystic Eyes, he's been able to do more research regarding the circumstances of being orphaned. His family was known for possessing these sorts of wonders where the magic dwells within the soul itself, taking it's form within the user's eyes. When using this magic, the user's magic signature is completely given with their eyes and can cause them to do phenomenal things even by magical standards. Mystic Eyes allows people to look at the world in a different perspective, whether it is rewriting elements to counterparts or even viewing every thing as a reflected image on a flat sheet that can be manipulated. Evan's use of Mystic Eyes were discovered the more he researched about the topic. He became knowledgeable about the other applications of this magic and as a result was able to learn them, even if in a rudimentary form. The primary focus of this magic is to spread the capabilities that each set of eyes and use them to the fullest potential. However, each set of eyes has a drawback if it used for too long except for Evan's personal eyes. This is due to the fact he only has a basic knowledge of what he must do to cast the eyes. He isn't able to maintain them for too long before they start to fall apart at the seams. This magic is best used in small bursts when he really needs the effects of the specific eye types before dispelling them all together as the detrimental effects can become a burden in the end. The primary goal with this magic is dish out what you need to do as quickly as possible before going back to using something else. Primarily, they should be used as last resorts or a way to open up things because if he casts them while in combat, he could forget to dispel them. It's capabilities are only limited by Evan himself.

╳ The user's magic signature varies based on the Eyes being used if it is not surpressed.

Unique Abilities:

千里眼 ╳ Clairvoyance: This is referring to the ability to see further than what is physically possible. This causes his ranges of all of his spells and abilities by 50%. However, as a result of this, Evan cannot receive buffs or healing from any other mages. This also lets him see things from perspectives that normal humans cannot.

凶れ ╳ Bend: Eyes of Distortion are vaguely present within his normal eyes so he can apply the knowledge and application of them without requiring the takeover. The end result is weaker but within burst radius of his rank, Evan can distort whatever is in range, dealing 50% of rank damage with it. The distortions appear to the naked eye as spirals of teal and red.

ライフライン ╳ Life Lines: Evan sees the lines that life places within beings in order to make sure that they are constantly brimming with life's energy. However, by targeting these lines with his weapons, he can sever the connections. With this, he gains 55% spell damage and deals a bonus 50% damage to targets who are organic life forms. However, he suffers a loss of 25% to his total HP due to having tampered with his own life lines for the ability to harm others.

The pacing was off, with too much time spent on insignificant details and not enough on important plot points. The main characters were unlikable and their motivations were unclear. The whole reading experience was frustrating and I regretted wasting my time on this book.
3. Sarah - 2 stars - I found "The Curse of Oiyyoe Borden" to be quite boring. The story had potential, but it dragged on unnecessarily and lacked excitement.
