Action-RPG Asterigos: Curse of the Stars launches this October
Third-person action-RPG (read: soulslike) Asterigos: Curse of the Stars is inspired by Greek and Roman mythology. Players take on the role of Hilda, a brave warrior on a quest. Her goal is to uncover the secrets of Aphes, a cursed city that is eternally haunted by former citizens turned horrifying monsters. The game will be coming to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox mid-October, so we only have about a month to wait before experiencing what it’s like to be Hilda.
Hilda will have to excel in a number of fighting styles, including sword and shield, dual blades, spears and hammers, and magical casting from powerful staves and enchanted bracelets. The streets of Aphes are dangerous despite these skills: dozens of monsters hang out in its streets, plazas, and ruined buildings. The city is beautiful, but deadly. It contains a web of sunlit valleys, crystalline caverns, and gorgeous plazas. Despite being dangerous, it will reward the curious and the brave. In addition to the main story, players can find over 100 collectibles, complete side quests, and expand their horizons in NewGame+ mode.
There is a good variety of weapons to choose from, from ranged to melee. The talent system allows players to pick and expand upon their combat style by choosing two of the six weapons at once: sword and shield, dual blades, spear, hammer, staff, and magic bracelets. Each does something different. For example, the staff obliterates foes from a distance while the hammer squishes them in close combat.
Developed by Acme Gamestudio and published by tinyBuild, Asterigos: Curse of the Stars will be released for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One on October 11. Pre-orders are currently available for PC and Xbox; PlayStation pre-orders open September 9.
