Prescription mouthwashes are used to treat mouth sores also known as oral mucositis. These mouth sores are usually caused by cancer chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy. There may be other causes or reasons for using a compounded prescription mouthwash. For example, oral surgeries and thrush or even stomach Problems.
Since these mouth sores can be very painful and disrupt eating and drinking it is important to treat the mouth sores. Prescription mouthwashes can relieve the pain caused by oral mucositis or any inflammation in the mouth.
