My opinion on Rune Metrics
I know I am gonna get hate for posting this because every single post on reddit that says something negative gets hated no matter how true it is.
I enjoy Runescape and spend allot of time playing it. Just because I am saying I dislike a specific feature about it doesn't mean I think the game overall is bad.
Rune metrics is a copy of features that OSRS 3rd party clients have for free. Also Jagex doesn't have to pay in order to give you access to these features as they are already tracking this data anyway so locking it behind a paywall is wrong. I can kind of understand why it would be a members feature but having it on a complete separate charge is pure trash.
They are basically charging players to see how well they are playing the game. Thats like call of duty charing you to see you KD ratio. Or sim city charging you to see how fast your town is growing. Or Forza charging you to see your lap times.
I understand it doesn't cost much but even if it was £1 per month would still be wrong. Its data that the game is already tracking like XP Per hour, combat stats and so on. They have copied these features from OSRS 3rd party clients and then decided to charge players for it knowing that people will pay for anything if its useful but that doesn't make it right to charge them for it. This is literally giving people an excuse to use 3rd party clients.
Maybe Rs3 would have more players if it wasn't such a cash grab.
