Ocracoke's Magic Bean Coffee Needs You!

Hello to all our wonderful friends and supporters! I'm Katy Mitchell owner and operator of Magic Bean Coffee Bazaar on Ocracoke Island. As many of you may know our island was hit hard with a more than 7ft Storm Surge from Hurricane Dorian. Dorian flooded many homes and businesses on our beautiful island, September 6th 2019. As the island and people began to regain our footing-COVID 19 happened and the world went into shutdown. Double whammy. We were facing almost 9 months with no income and getting righted from a complete capsize has been a challenge. We have worked hard to move forward any way that we can. We are raising funds now to repair/replace our downstairs heating and air unit and ducts(5,000.00). We need to put in waterproof laminate flooring (2,000.00), we now have painted subfloor. While the COVID 19 pandemic is still a very real threat to our visitors and workers we would like to create comfortable outside seating arrangements in our front yard and on the large back deck. A local Ocracoke high school senior, Christian Trejo is building wooden outdoor furniture to raise money for college this fall and we would love to support his creative endeavors and contribute to his higher education. We would would like to purchase 2,000.00 worth of his outdoor tables and chairs (3 [email redacted] each and 2 double [email redacted] each) to outfit the Magic Bean's new COVID Conscience seating. Any donations will go to these 3 projects and would be a great help to ensuring the success of the Magic Bean Coffee Bazaar going forward. Any donation, any amount will help us complete our projects and reach our goals. Thank you so much for considering us for your charitable contribution. Love to you all this season, stay warm, and stay safe! All for one and one for all!
