The blood moon, also known as a lunar eclipse, has long been associated with an air of mystery and a sense of the supernatural. It is believed by some that this celestial event holds great power and significance in the world of occult rituals. As the blood moon of 2022 approaches, occult practitioners are preparing to harness this power for their own purposes. Occult rituals during the blood moon are said to be particularly potent, as the moon is shrouded in a reddish hue, giving it an otherworldly quality. This is believed to enhance the energy and effectiveness of the rituals performed during this time. Many different types of occult rituals can be performed during a blood moon, depending on the individual's intention and desired outcome.
In an earlier case involving the university, Crue v. Aiken (7th Cir. 2004), the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals had upheld a decision holding as impermissible the university chancellor’s attempt to avoid NCAA sanctions by forbidding faculty members unhappy about what they viewed as the university’s use of racially demeaning stereotypes of Native Americans from communicating with prospective student-athletes on the matter. The court found the chancellor’s actions to be an overly broad, content-based prior restraint.
Sports mascots that may be offensive to Native Americans are generally protected by the First Amendment, but controversy has led the NCAA to discourage their use through sanctions. Native Americans and their supporters gather outside the Metrodome in 2013 to protest the Washington Redskins name, prior to an NFL football game between the team and the Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis.
Many different types of occult rituals can be performed during a blood moon, depending on the individual's intention and desired outcome. Some practitioners may choose to perform rituals for personal growth and development, using the energy of the blood moon to amplify their intentions. These rituals can include meditation, visualization, and spellcasting to manifest desires and achieve spiritual transformation.

In 2019, Maine became the latest state to take such action. California’s Racial Mascots Act which became law in 2017 prohibits using “redskins” as an athletic name or mascot. Others may focus on divination and communing with the spirit world, seeking guidance and insight during this heightened time. In addition to personal rituals, some occult groups may come together to perform collective ceremonies during a blood moon. These gatherings may involve chanting, dancing, and the use of ceremonial tools and objects. The collective energy generated during these rituals is believed to be especially powerful, as the participants synchronize their intentions and focus their energy towards a common goal. It is important to note that occult rituals during the blood moon are not inherently negative or harmful. While there are certainly individuals who may use this time for malevolent purposes, such as casting curses or performing dark magic, there are also many practitioners who use this energy for positive purposes, such as healing, protection, and spiritual growth. As the blood moon of 2022 draws near, those involved in the occult may be eagerly preparing their rituals and gathering their tools. The belief in the power of the blood moon and its ability to enhance the efficacy of occult practices has been a part of human history for centuries. Whether for personal growth, divination, or collective ceremonies, the blood moon offers a unique opportunity for occult practitioners to tap into a mystical energy and unlock its potential..
