About the Author
MARY POPE OSBORNE is the author of the New York Times number one bestselling Magic Tree House series. She and her husband, writer Will Osborne (author of Magic Tree House: The Musical), live in northwestern Connecticut with their three dogs. Ms. Osborne is also the coauthor of the companion Magic Tree House Fact Trackers series with Will, and with her sister, Natalie Pope Boyce.
SAL MURDOCCA has illustrated more than 200 children's trade and text books. He is also a librettist for children's opera, a video artist, an avid runner, hiker, and bicyclist, and a teacher of children's illustration at the Parsons School of Design. I found "Magical Fish Story" to be extremely dull and uninteresting. The storyline was confusing and lacked depth. The characters were one-dimensional and had little development. I couldn't connect with any of them and didn't find myself invested in their journey. The writing was also mediocre, with clichéd phrases and predictable plot twists. Overall, I was disappointed and wouldn't recommend this book to others.

I had high expectations for "Magical Fish Story" based on the positive reviews I had read, but I was left underwhelmed. The concept of a magical fish granting wishes sounded intriguing, but the execution was lacking. The pacing was slow, and the story dragged on unnecessarily. The dialogue was also unrealistic and forced. I didn't find the characters relatable or likable, which made it difficult to care about their problems or their wishes. In the end, the book fell flat for me, and I wouldn't bother recommending it.
