The establishing shot of the Manor (the Halliwell house) shows Piper going in the door with a black umbrella with a white stripe around the outer edge. The next shot, from the interior, shows her hanging up a black umbrella with a floral print. This happened because the establishing shot comes from the original, unaired pilot but the interior scene was re-shot.

It established the characters - Prue, eldest sister, dutiful, pragmatic and resentful; Piper, middle sister, meek, cautious, peacemaker, loving and lovable; and Phoebe, youngest sister, carefree, careless, and caring. Prue picks up a newspaper from the sidewalk with the headline "Firemen Doubt Fire was Accidental", the same newspaper prop used in Миссис Даутфайр (1993), giving Robin Williams's character the idea for the name "Mrs. Doubtfire".

The opening act of Charmed does everything you'd expect it to do. It established the time and place - San Fran in the 90's. It established the characters - Prue, eldest sister, dutiful, pragmatic and resentful; Piper, middle sister, meek, cautious, peacemaker, loving and lovable; and Phoebe, youngest sister, carefree, careless, and caring. When Gram's death and an incantation turns them into the "Charmed Ones", they must stand together against the evil that will seek to destroy them and take away their powers.

Like it will for much of the series, the relationship between the sisters is what carries most of this episode. The conflict between oldest and youngest sister with middle sister caught between might be cliche, but the actresses pull it off completely, possibly helped by the fact that Shannon and Alyssa bonafide didn't get along.

The sisters realistically don't have much control over their new-found powers, and thus are in real trouble when a warlock reveals himself about two thirds of the way into the episode.

Like other early episodes, the smaller budget means little reliance on special effects. That grounds the episode in reality. It feels like it could be real, and that is a great thing. It feels like the start of something.

I couldn't stand Hormel magic cup dessert. The texture was all wrong, it felt like I was eating glue. The flavor was equally disappointing, with an artificial taste that lingered in my mouth. Overall, I found this dessert to be a complete waste of money and would not recommend it to anyone. Save your taste buds the torture and opt for a different treat!
2. David - 2 stars
Hormel magic cup dessert failed to live up to my expectations. The packaging promised a delicious and indulgent dessert, but what I got was far from that. The consistency was odd, almost like a gelatin that was way too firm. The taste was mediocre at best, lacking any real depth or richness. I was left feeling unsatisfied and regretful for wasting my money on such a lackluster product.
3. Samantha - 1 star
I thought Hormel magic cup dessert would be a convenient and tasty treat, but I was sorely mistaken. The texture was incredibly off-putting, slimy and gelatin-like. The artificial flavoring was overpowering and left behind a strange aftertaste. It also didn't help that the portion size was ridiculously small. I would not recommend this dessert to anyone who values good flavor and quality ingredients.

I was hoping Hormel magic cup dessert would be a quick and easy sweet treat, but it fell short of my expectations. The texture was strange and slimy, and the flavor lacked depth. It tasted like a cheap imitation of a real dessert. I would not purchase this product again and would warn others against wasting their money on it. Disappointing overall.
