Set the Scene with Eerie Witch Hanging Tree Decor for Halloween

By admin

Halloween is a time of year when people like to decorate their homes and yards with spooky and creepy decorations. One popular Halloween decoration is a witch hanging from a tree. This eerie and macabre decor adds an element of fright to any Halloween display. The idea of a witch hanging from a tree is inspired by the witches of old folklore and the history of witch trials and executions. It is a way to symbolize the darker and more haunting aspects of Halloween. The witch hanging tree decor typically features a full-size or life-size witch figure, complete with a pointed hat and broomstick, hanging by a rope or chain from a tree branch.

MAGIC LIKE THAT

A fine addition to an expanding body of hair-affirming books that exude Black girl self-love and confidence.

A 20-some–years-later companion to Natasha Tarpley’s I Love My Hair (1998).

A young, dark-skinned, brown-eyed Black girl declares, “My hair is magic,” as she smiles at her own image in a mirror while her puffy, freshly shampooed hair drips. While she cringes when her mother combs out her tangles to style her hair, she admires and appreciates the results. She then describes a plethora of hairstyles she wears that show the versatility of her Afro-textured hair. On each double-page spread, she likens her hair to something in nature: When she wears it loose, her hair resembles ocean currents; she compares her Bantu knots to the windswept desert; with colorful barrettes in it, her hair is “a cloudless sky on a winter night”; and her braids are “like long vines tumbling from a garden trellis.” After each simile comes the refrain: “My hair is [adjective] like that”—majestic, mischievous, stunning, elegant, etc. Haitian American author Doyon creates an affirming story, enhanced by Black illustrator Bowers’ use of bright colors, lots of bold, face-front images, and beautiful natural settings to positively portray dark skin, African physical features, and highly textured hair. Readers who enjoy Yesenia Moises’ Stella’s Stellar Hair (2021) and M.L. Marroquin and Tonya Engel’s My Hair Is Magic (2020) will find just as much to love in this book.

Reviews for "Get Crafty with DIY Halloween Witch Hanging Tree Decor"

1. Sarah - 1 star - I was really disappointed with the Halloween witch hanging tree decor. The quality was extremely poor, with the plastic witch looking cheap and easily breakable. The tree limbs were flimsy and didn't hold the weight of the witch properly, causing it to droop and lose its effect. Additionally, the overall design was not as visually appealing as I had hoped. I would not recommend this product.
2. Michael - 2 stars - This Halloween witch hanging tree decor did not meet my expectations. The assembly process was complicated and confusing, with vague instructions that were hard to follow. Once the decor was finally set up, it looked awkward and out of place. The materials used were not durable, and the witch's hat kept falling off even with minimal wind. Overall, I was disappointed with the product's quality and design.
3. Emily - 1 star - I was extremely unsatisfied with the Halloween witch hanging tree decor. The colors were faded and dull, making it difficult to see from a distance. The fabric used for the witch's clothing was thin and easily torn, and the paint on her face was smudged. The whole decor looked cheap and lacked the spooky vibe I was hoping for. I would not recommend purchasing this item.
