The Curse of the Forgotten City Deep within the dense jungles of South America lies a hidden city that has long been forgotten. Legend has it that this mysterious city is cursed, a place where darkness and evil are said to reside. The curse is said to have befallen the city centuries ago, when its inhabitants angered the gods with their greed and arrogance. Once a thriving civilization, the people who inhabited the city were known for their advanced knowledge and architectural wonders. But as their wealth and power grew, so did their ambition. They began to exploit the natural resources around them, disregarding the delicate balance of nature.

THE EVOLUTION OF MAGIC WORLD PART 1 Having been in our magic world for over 50 years as a hobbyist and in the magic business since 1975, this “old feller” has seen a lot of changes! None as quick or impactive as the last five years. My evaluation will cover this period of time […]

We here at Stevens Publishing are very excited to work with Pete Biro, on his newest and exceptionally detailed and equally impressive book titled The Real Secrets of the Chinese. He also instituted the Wichita Conclave that moved to Las Vegas where it became the Desert Magic Seminar with big dollar prizes and trophies from Siegfried Roy.

They began to exploit the natural resources around them, disregarding the delicate balance of nature. The gods, in their anger, decided to punish the people by cursing the city and everything within it. According to the legend, anyone who enters the forgotten city is doomed to suffer.

Rest in Peace good sir!

He and his son Mark always steered me in the right direction when calling into the shop. I remember Joe and Pete Biro hanging out together at the Castle back in the day.

It was always great talking with Joe when he came to conventions as a dealer. One time, I was looking at an expensive item and he told me to take it to my room and try it out a bit, and if I didn't like it, I could just bring it back to him without buying it. And. those VHS videos were the best!

A genuinely nice guy. I loved working with him, and the builder's conference he hosted a few years ago for Michael Baker, Gimpy, Louie Gaynor, Bill Trotter, and myself was beyond awesome. I will always treasure that he accepted my few products into his list; it brought magic back into my life.

My sincere condolences to Mark and the family. He will be missed.

Such a solid legacy he leaves behind, that will no doubt live on. May he rest in peace.

My first encounter w/ Stevens Magic left no doubt it was a top-notch organization.

My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur". Posted: Jan 31, 2023 07:02 pm

Before I moved away, I used to go in the shop and visit with him every weekend. Great memories! He will be missed.

Joe was a class act, and will be very much missed.

Stevens Magic was and is the "Magic Dealer Who Thinks BIG", and was, I think, the foremost PROMOTER of all Magic Dealers ever.

Joe told me many years ago that his Role Model as a Magic Dealer was the late Gene Devoe of Devoe's Magic Den in St. Louis. Gene was my first mentor, and was the man behind the Bro. John Hamman line of Magic.

For those magicians who never had the pleasure of meeting Joe, I will tell you that, in my opinion, he was the best Magic Demonstrator I have ever witnessed, including the late Al Cohen.

Like Gene DeVoe, Joe Stevens had "Chops".

Strange phenomena have been reported by those who dared to venture into the cursed territory. Time is said to stand still within the city; the sun never sets, and the moon never rises. The atmosphere is heavy with a palpable sense of foreboding, as if something sinister lurks in the shadows. Those who have entered the city claim to have experienced bizarre occurrences. Whispers echo through the abandoned streets, but the source remains unknown. Peculiar symbols adorn the crumbling walls of once-grand buildings, warning trespassers of the curse that awaits them. Many have reported feeling an inexplicable presence, as if they are being watched by unseen eyes. But the curse not only affects those who enter the city, but also extends to those who dare to take artifacts or treasures from its depths. These stolen artifacts are believed to carry the curse with them, bringing misfortune and misery to their possessors. It is said that the curses range from unexplainable accidents, to illnesses, to even death itself. The curse of the forgotten city serves as a reminder of the consequences of human greed and disregard for the natural world. It is a warning that power and wealth can be fleeting, and that even the most advanced civilizations can be brought to ruin. The city stands as a haunting testament to the destructive forces of human ambition, forever shrouded in a veil of darkness and mystery. While the existence of the cursed city remains a topic of debate among historians and archaeologists, the legends and stories surrounding it continue to captivate the imaginations of those who dare to explore the unknown. The curse of the forgotten city serves as a cautionary tale, reminding us to tread carefully and respect the world around us, lest we unleash forces that we cannot control..
