The strange tree made its first appearance during a marching band performance and, to everyone s surprise, the student body loved the tree and its antics. When choosing mascots, the vast majority of schools opt for characters that embody in equal parts fierceness, courage and menace, but some schools stand apart from the masses and go a wholly different route.

A Homage To Our Mascot: Sammy the Slug

What is slimy, vibrantly yellow, and cute as a button? UC Santa Cruz’s very own Banana Slug! The Banana Slug, commonly found on the redwood forest floor, first started off as the unofficial mascot for UCSC’s coed teams since the university’s founding years.

However, before the Banana Slug became UCSC’s official mascot, the university struggled with juggling two different mascots. UCSC’s chancellor at the time, Robert Sinsheimer, deicided to make the sea lions mascot in 1980. But after years of dealing with a two-mascot problem, students voted to make the Banana Slug the official mascot. In 1986, Sammy the Slug became our official mascot!

Reviews for "Why Every Child Needs a Fisher Price Magical Mirror"

1. Jane - 1 out of 5 stars
I was really disappointed with the Fisher Price Magical Mirror. First of all, the mirror was not magical at all. It was just a regular plastic mirror with some cheap stickers on it. The supposed "magical" effects were underwhelming and barely noticeable. Secondly, the mirror was not very sturdy and kept falling over easily. My toddler couldn't even play with it without it toppling over. Overall, I would not recommend this product as it did not live up to its claims.
2. Mike - 2 out of 5 stars
I had high hopes for the Fisher Price Magical Mirror, but it fell short of my expectations. The mirror itself was fine, but the magical effects were lacking. The lights barely worked and didn't create the whimsical experience that I was looking for. Additionally, the buttons on the mirror were not very responsive, making it frustrating to use. I think there are better options out there for children's interactive mirrors.
3. Sarah - 2 out of 5 stars
The Fisher Price Magical Mirror was a big disappointment for my daughter. The mirror's quality was poor, with scratches and marks on the surface right out of the box. The lights and sounds were supposed to be magical, but they were lackluster and unimpressive. The mirror also didn't hold up well to play, with the plastic frame easily breaking. I was not impressed with this product and would not recommend it.
