The Magic Hand Thing is a phenomenon that has gained popularity in recent years. It involves a person placing their hand on a surface and another person drawing lines and shapes around their hand without lifting the pen or pencil. The result is an intricate design that appears to be magically created by the hand. This activity is often performed at parties, sleepovers, or as a fun game during breaks at school or work. It requires two individuals: one to place their hand on the surface, and the other to draw around it. The person drawing needs to be careful not to lift the pen or pencil during the process in order to achieve the desired effect.

Okay, it wasn’t the paparazzi, but it was Michael Bisig, a wonderful photographer taking pictures for Stitch Fix.

Although she enjoyed crafting, sewing clothing, and quilting projects, she found her life s passion of machine embroidery while working as a supervisor for 5 years in the commercial apparel industry creating licensed embroidered sports apparel. Nancy Zieman Sewing Studio in Beaver Dam WI, and values her work and partnership with PBS Wisconsin co-producers of Sewing With Nancy, The Best of Sewing With Nancy, and The Great Wisconsin Quilt Show.

My tip is for those curved safety pins used for basting quilts. I learned to put them away still open so you don't have to close and open them an extra time. But they get all tangled together when they are open in the box! I find that if I grab a tangle of 4 or 5 pins and drop them onto a hard surface from about 8 inches up that they tend to bounce away from each other. I might still end up with 2 stuck together, but 2 or 3 are ready to pick up and baste. Saves a little frustration!
