Crusr of the Sea Rats vs. Sea of Thieves: Which Pirate Game Reigns Supreme on Switch?

By admin

The Curse of the Sea Rats is a video game that was originally announced in 2019 as a 2D action RPG. It is being developed by a small indie studio called Petoons Studio and is set in the 18th century Caribbean. The game follows the story of four of the most feared pirates in the seas, who are turned into rats by a sorceress called Dark Morris. The game features hand-drawn animations and artwork, giving it a unique and charming visual style. Players can choose to play as one of the four pirate rats, each with their own abilities and playstyles. They must explore the open-world setting, engaging in side quests and battles with other pirates and creatures, in order to break the curse and return to their human form.

One of the interesting aspects of The Curse of the Sea Rats is its use of the "switch" mechanic. Players can switch between the four pirate rats on the fly, using their unique abilities to overcome obstacles and defeat enemies.

Curvique Vintage – Pretty Dress Review

It’s becoming more and more important for us as consumers to start looking local when we want to freshen up our wardrobes. For those also in Perth and in the vintage scene, we are very lucky to have Curvique Vintage who has some of my favourite factors when shopping: woman run business, a huge size range (6 to 22), inclusive models and ambassadors, and a wide range of designers both local, national and international. For anyone currently living in Australia, we all know the pain felt when we see how much shipping is to get a dream dress, one such company for me is The Pretty Dress Company and by golly gosh was I thrilled when I saw Curvique Vintage was a stockist. For today’s review, I will be sharing my thoughts on the new Hourglass Sorrento Swing Dress by The Pretty Dress Company sold by Curvique Vintage.

When I first unwrapped this dress I was floored by how bright and bold the print was. It truly is a statement dress and will definitely make you stand out. As an advocate for overdressing on the daily, I would wear this for running errands or just ‘when I have to grab a dress and run out of the house’ as it’s well fitted, flattering and it made me feel like my life was put together. I can also imagine this dress being worn for parties, weddings and picnics because it is so light and fun. I found the bodice very flattering and it sat in just the right spot on my body. I am a particular fan of the cap sleeves and the cross over bust section on the front of the bodice. There was a bit of gathering right under the bust which made for a flattering torso and the dress went in slightly at the waist. You can tell that whilst designing this dress, the hourglass shape was kept in mind just by looking at the lines this dress creates.

The dress features a back invisible zip which worked no problem )although I do normally need someone to help me zip up but it’s mainly because I’m uncoordinated). I was pleased to see some pattern matching on the back seam which really emphasises the amount of thought and construction that has gone into this dress. I am also a fan of the fact that the dress is fully lined; both the bodice and the skirt have a very soft lining and the skirt lining isn’t too tight so you can spin around without flashing your pantaloons. The skirt itself is very full and luscious which makes twirling oh so much fun. Best of all, the dress has pockets on both sides of the skirt!

The dress I wore was a size 10 and it fit me perfect. The fabric has some stretch in it so you do have a bit of wiggle room but I also don’t like my dresses too tight. At the current moment, I’m not doing the greatest in terms of my body so I hope when I start my recovery and return to my fitness routine, I will be a little less bumpy in the sides but wearing this dress did make me feel pretty good about myself. This dress could definitely be worn with a belt if you’d like to exaggerate your waist.

To put my look together, I reached for black and red accessories with a few floral touches; my shoes (not pictured) were market finds featuring black velvet and red roses were such a dream to wear. I further accessorised with a large black hat, red rose earrings from Daisy Jean Floral Designs and some vintage red gloves. I also wore a red rose clip which was gifted to me from a friend and my black Lola Von Rose bag. I felt very Parisian chic in this dress as it certainly is elegant, feminine and strong. If you do find the print a little too much, you can always calm it down with a black or red cardigan, some sandals and maybe a cute necklace.

When shopping for the Sorrento Swing dress, it is described as “The Hourglass Swing Dress will gently clinch in your waist with it’s faux wrap effect waistline and flow into a full circle skirt which will leave you wanted to twirl around forever. The dress features a full stretch control lining to create a smooth silhouette, a high ‘V’ neckline and wrap effect waistline to suit all figures, it is finished off with a full circle skirt with a concealed centre back zip”. I think the dress in real life definitely meets all those requirements and will not disappoint you.

A huge thank you to Curvique Vintage for allowing me to review and test out this dress for you. If you are happy to support a small female run business, definitely check out the Curvique website, Facebook and instagram. Besides dresses, they also stock pants, jumpsuits, skirts, tops, cardigans, prom dresses and many accessories. They truely are a wonderful part of the vintage community and their ambassadors are lucky enough to have specific items designed and styled by them which is such a wonderful thing to see. Oh and did I mention that they also sell men’s fashion? I know right! What a great little business.
