Frequent Adam Sandler collaborator Frank Coraci ("The Wedding Singer," "The Waterboy") reunites with the actor to direct this high-concept, high-tech update of Frank Capra's "It's a Wonderful Life." Director Terry Zwigoff's life was forever changed after meeting legendary cartoonist R. Crumb, who he eventually made a documentary about. "Crumb" (1994) forever linked Zwigoff with the underground-comics community, and brought him in contact with writer/illustrator Dan Clowes. Both Zwigoff and Clowes were nominated for an Oscar for the adapted screenplay for 2001's "Ghost World," a Clowes graphic novel about two outcasts (one of whom is portrayed in the film by a young Scarlett Johansson) dealing with life after high school. The writing/directing team reunited for another adaptation of one of Clowes' comics, "Art School Confidential." This time, Jerome (Max Minghella) is an aspiring artist who quickly finds his dreams dashed after enrolling in art school and encountering difficult professors (like John Malkovich) and fellow students.
