There was an old witch who lived in a crooked house at the edge of a dark forest. She had long, silver hair that flowed down her back like a waterfall, and her eyes sparkled with a mischievous twinkle. The old witch had a reputation for casting powerful spells and brewing magical potions. Children from nearby towns would tell tales of the old witch, warning each other to stay far away from her eerie house. They said she had a cauldron that bubbled with mysterious potions and a pet black cat with glowing yellow eyes. The townsfolk feared her and believed she practiced dark magic.

Part of what makes Escape so great is the attention paid to its components. Wow, these are fantastic components! The dice are custom engraved, which is a nice touch. While they’re a smidge smaller than I’d like, the engraving more than makes up for it. The chamber tiles, curses, and treasures are all on sturdy cardboard, and the art of the game is evocative. It (and the adventurer pawns) sets the tone for an experience not unlike the Indiana Jones movies (which is a huge plus for me).

Players don t have much time to focus on other players all players are playing at the same time, so they must focus on their own part to play in the game. A cursed player is usually not completely incapacitated, but even so, it takes time to swat a gnat, and there is precious little time in Escape already.

Elude the curse of the temple

The townsfolk feared her and believed she practiced dark magic. But contrary to the rumors, the old witch had a kind heart. She used her powers for good, helping those in need.

She would brew potions that cured illnesses, reality-enhancing spells that brought knowledge, and love charms for the lonely souls in the town. However, she kept her good deeds a secret, preferring to be known as a mysterious and fearsome witch. One day, a brave young girl named Lily decided to venture into the dark forest and visit the old witch. She was curious to know if the stories the children told were true. With her heart pounding, Lily walked up to the crooked house and knocked on the creaky door. To her surprise, the old witch welcomed her with a warm smile. Inside, the house was cozy and filled with shelves of potions and spell books. The black cat purred contently on the windowsill, looking much friendlier than its reputation. Over a cup of magical tea, the old witch shared her story with Lily. She explained that she had been misunderstood for generations, and her true intention was always to help others. The old witch longed for acceptance but was afraid people would not understand her. Lily listened intently and realized that the old witch's intentions were indeed pure. She saw her as a lonely, kind soul who had been judged unfairly. From that day forward, Lily became the old witch's loyal friend and visited her regularly. Word spread of Lily's friendship with the old witch, and the townsfolk began to question their preconceived notions about her. They started to realize that sometimes the scariest looking beings had the kindest hearts. With time, the old witch's reputation transformed from one of fear to admiration and respect. She continued to use her magic to bring happiness and joy to those around her. And so, the old witch and Lily lived happily ever after, proving that one should never judge a book by its cover..
