Featured in The New York Times as #6 in “ 50 Places to Visit,” Light at Sensorio now features four installations by internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Munro. Field of Light is a multi-acre walk-through experience, Munro’s largest artwork in the world, recently expanded to more than 100,000 stemmed spheres lit by fiber optics, gently illuminating the landscape in subtle blooms of morphing color that describe the undulating landscape. The adjacent Light Towers celebrates Paso Robles’ extensive wine country environs, featuring 69 towers composed of more than 17,000 wine bottles, illuminated with glowing optic fibers whose colors morph to an inspiring musical score. The two newest exhibits by Munro, Gone Fishing and Fireflies, were unveiled on May 19, 2023, and can be found in a small valley adjacent to Light Towers, adding another half-acre to the exhibit. Powered by solar, these stunning exhibits captivate visitors, inviting them to engage with the landscape and environment through an ethereal light based and sculptural experience. Smithsonian Magazine has called Munro’s art “ stunning,” while The Guardian noted “ This is art you feel, rather than art you view.”

The Future of Sensorio

Sensorio, the intersection of art, technology and nature, was designed as a destination for entertainment, exploration, meditation, adventure, and delight. It honors the natural topography of the landscape, offering visitors amusing, musical, and kinetic experiences. The Central California destination launched in May 2019 with Field of Light, and now expands with the première of Light Towers in 2021. The two newest exhibits by Munro, Gone Fishing and Fireflies, were unveiled on May 19, 2023, and can be found in a valley adjacent to Light Towers, adding another half-acre to the exhibit. Future attractions at Sensorio will include additional art exhibits, as well as a hotel and conference center.

Reviews for "The Challenges and Triumphs of the Hobby Center's Magic Champions"

1. John - 2/5 Rating: I was really disappointed with the Champions of Magic Hobbu Center show. The magicians lacked charisma and their tricks were not impressive at all. The show felt disjointed, and there was no flow between the performances. The set design was underwhelming and didn't add anything to the overall experience. Overall, I expected a captivating and awe-inspiring magic show, but instead, I left feeling bored and unimpressed.
2. Sarah - 1/5 Rating: I had high hopes for the Champions of Magic Hobbu Center, but it turned out to be a complete letdown. The tricks were predictable, and I could easily figure out the methods behind them. The magicians seemed disinterested and lacked showmanship. The stage props were cheap and poorly made, which further detracted from the overall experience. I would not recommend wasting your time and money on this lackluster magic show. There are much better options out there.
3. Mark - 2/5 Rating: Champions of Magic Hobbu Center fell flat for me. The tricks were unimpressive and lacked originality. I've seen similar performances at local magic shows, so there was nothing new or exciting about this one. The pacing of the show was also off, with moments of awkward silence in between tricks. The magicians didn't engage with the audience enough, making it feel like a distant and detached experience. I expected more from a show with such a grand title, but unfortunately, it failed to deliver.
