It is a time to honor the sacred union of the God and Goddess. Litha, celebrated on June 21st, corresponds to the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. Wiccans celebrate the power of the sun and the abundance of nature. Lughnasadh, observed on August 1st, marks the beginning of the harvest season. It is a time to give thanks for the bountiful gifts of the earth. Mabon, celebrated on September 21st, coincides with the autumnal equinox. Wiccans reflect on the balance between light and dark and express gratitude for the harvest. Throughout the year, Wiccans also observe Esbats, which are monthly celebrations of the full moon. These are times for reflection, meditation, and connecting with the lunar energies. The Wiccan calendar serves as a roadmap for Wiccans to stay in tune with nature, connect with the divine, and celebrate the cyclical nature of life.
