1. John - 1/5 - The choice of naming the Pittsburgh Pirates mascot "Jake the Jolly Roger" is absolutely appalling. As a long-time fan of the team, I have always associated the Jolly Roger with the team's identity and winning tradition. It is disrespectful and embarrassing to reduce such a powerful symbol to a cutesy, childish name like Jake. I find it hard to support a team that would make such a poor decision for their mascot's name.
2. Sarah - 2/5 - While I understand that the Pittsburgh Pirates wanted to inject some fun and whimsy into their mascot's name, I don't think they hit the mark with "Bucco Bob." It sounds more like a generic name you would give to a cartoon character than a professional sports team mascot. It lacks the creativity and charm that I expect from such a prominent organization. I hope they reconsider and choose a name that can better represent the team and its history.
3. Mike - 3/5 - I have mixed feelings about the Pittsburgh Pirates choosing the name "Captain Slappy" for their mascot.
