One way to find the nearest Wiccan group is by conducting an online search. Use search engines like Google to look for Wiccan groups in your area. Another option is to reach out to local metaphysical or New Age stores.
Come along and meet fellow like-minded people, in an informal atmosphere. Remember – there are no such things as strangers – only friends you haven’t yet met!
However, during 2020, COVID-19 measures have made it difficult for Moots to meet in person so many Moots are now offering online activities and meetings. So, trying to be a participant in whatever is going on is not merely a matter of taking a first step, but often a huge leap across a seemingly vast chasm.
Another option is to reach out to local metaphysical or New Age stores. These stores often have bulletin boards or community calendars that list events and gatherings related to Wicca and other spiritual practices. They may be able to provide you with information about nearby Wiccan groups or even host their own gatherings.
North East
PF North East is a large geographical area stretching from Scotland in the north to Derbyshire in the south and from the east coast to Lancashire. There are five Regions – Northumbria, North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, East Yorkshire and South Yorkshire-with-North-Lincs, each one with a Regional Coordinator and at least one Local Coordinator whose main responsibility is making contact with PF members in their area.
There are so many interesting sites throughout this District – monoliths, mounds, turf mazes, stone circles, springs, wells and numerous natural features worthy of a visit – it has been difficult to select just three.

District & Folk Events:
Most local areas have meetings of some kind, many are held monthly in local pubs or cafes, some are in members’ homes, others are less frequent and might involve walks, picnics or countryside clean-up activities.
We have our own quarterly newsletter/magazine – Northern Oak – published at the Solstices and Equinoxes and sent out to all Associate and Full members. There are also some members who are ‘specialists’ on the different Pagan Paths and others who can help in areas such as dealing with the media, young people or Pagan parents. Twice a year we hold a District Council meeting where views can be aired and ideas shared.

YORK: Kith of the Earthen Star is a corporately-led, nature-loving Pagan group welcoming all who bring positive energies into the Circle. We meet upstairs in the Black Swan, Peaseholme Green, York. 1. Emily - 2 stars - I was really excited to try out the nearest Wiccan group, but I was very disappointed with the experience. The group was not welcoming at all, and it felt like they were judging me for being a beginner. The leader was condescending and didn't give clear instructions for the rituals. Overall, it was a very off-putting and unhelpful experience. I would not recommend this group to anyone looking to learn or practice Wicca.
2. Mark - 1 star - This Wiccan group was a complete waste of time. The leader was disorganized and seemed more interested in showing off her knowledge than helping others. The rituals were confusing and poorly explained. I left feeling frustrated and discouraged. It's a shame because I was really looking forward to connecting with others who share my beliefs, but this group fell way short of my expectations. Save yourself the trouble and look for a different Wiccan group that actually cares about its members.
3. Sarah - 2 stars - I attended a couple of meetings with this Wiccan group, and it didn't seem like a welcoming or inclusive space. The members already seemed to have their established cliques, making it difficult for new members to feel included. The leader didn't address this issue and didn't make an effort to create a more inclusive environment. Additionally, the group lacked structure and organization, which made it hard to follow their rituals and practices. I ended up leaving and finding a different Wiccan group where I felt more comfortable and accepted.
4. Jason - 1 star - I had high hopes for this Wiccan group, but it turned out to be a disappointment. The meetings were disorganized and lacked any meaningful structure. It felt like a free-for-all rather than a cohesive group. Furthermore, the leader was arrogant and dismissive of other perspectives. Instead of encouraging open-mindedness and exploration, they insisted on their views being the only valid ones. Overall, I found this group to be unwelcoming and unhelpful in my spiritual journey. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time with them.
