Michigan Tech is a university located in Houghton, Michigan. One of the prominent elements of the university's culture is its mascot, the Husky. The official mascot is known as Blizzard T. Husky and has become an important symbol for Michigan Tech. Blizzard T. Husky is a Siberian Husky, which is an energetic and intelligent breed.
We work very hard to get all standard wood orders placed before 1PM EST out the same or next business day. Exceptions include PatternPly® presale orders, custom orders and orders placed during new releases, flash sales, or during peak holiday season (mid-November to mid-December).
Please note that if you couple wood with your PatternPly order, it will all ship together and will have the added manufacturing time for the PatternPly. If you choose expedited shipping at checkout for PatternPly without prior approval, your order will still have the normal manufacturing lead time before shipment.
Husky is a Siberian Husky, which is an energetic and intelligent breed. This choice of mascot reflects the university's values of determination, strength, and perseverance. The name Blizzard also pays homage to the harsh winters that Houghton experiences, as well as the university's winter sports and outdoor activities.

Sizing: All sheets are 12 x 19". If you need your sheets cut smaller to fit your laser bed, please leave a note on the order at checkout and we will gladly cut the sheets in half, for example.
Shipping Speed: All PatternPly® is made to order and will have a processing/manufacturing lead time. For current lead times, please see the banner on the PatternPly® collection screen. Please note that if you couple wood with your PatternPly® order, it will all ship together and will have the added manufacturing time for the PatternPly®. If you need wood sooner, please order it separately and we will send it out in our normal shipping speed.
PatternPly® is not eligible for expedited shipping without prior approval. Please contact us before ordering if you need expedited PatternPly®. If you choose expedited shipping at checkout for PatternPly® without prior approval, your order will still have the normal manufacturing lead time before shipment. Only the time in transit will be expedited.

Note about the 1/8" mirrored acrylic options ONLY: These sheets will have your desired pattern on one side and PatternPly® Solid BLACK on the back side. Instead of the typical clear area in between the pattern elements, the mirrored acrylic options will instead have a mirrored look in the color of your choice in between the pattern elements . Because of the reflection, some micro patterns MAY LOOK BLURRY. Unlike our other acrylic offerings, the mirrored acrylic cores use an extruded acrylic. All the other acrylic cores are cast acrylic.

As a lifelong Michigan Tech fan, I was extremely disappointed with the new mascot. It lacks the spirit and energy that our previous mascots have had. The costume itself looks cheap and does not accurately represent the fierce and powerful image of our hockey team. Overall, I feel like this new mascot was a step in the wrong direction and I hope that the university considers making some changes in the future.

I recently attended a Michigan Tech game and was underwhelmed by the new mascot. It just didn't seem to connect with the crowd or generate any excitement. The design of the costume is mediocre at best, and the movements of the mascot were awkward and uncoordinated. I was hoping for a mascot that would represent the university with pride and embody the spirit of our athletes, but unfortunately, this one fell short.

I must say, I was quite disappointed with the new Michigan Tech mascot. The overall appearance is lackluster and unmemorable. It fails to capture the attention of the audience and lacks the energetic and enthusiastic nature that a mascot should possess. The design looks dated and unoriginal. I think the university should go back to the drawing board and come up with a new mascot that accurately represents the spirit and pride of Michigan Tech.
