But there s also the factor of voice acting, which wasn t skimped out on for the cats either, with Chito having a really cute meowing voice throughout the series. While life in Aomori is generally quiet, Makoto and her witch associates bring their own brand of weirdness to life for herself and the people she meets.

Prepare to be Bewitched!

Makoto Kowata, a novice witch, packs up her belongings (including her black cat familiar) and moves in with her distant cousins in rural Aomori Prefecture, in the far north reaches of Japan, to complete her training and become a full-fledged witch.

For added witchy charm, we get to encounter an interesting cast of characters from the land of magic that serve to enchant and entertain both the characters and the viewers. From ghosts to heralds of spring to giant floating whales in the sky, Flying Witch comes up with some truly unique but also classic characters to add that witchy flavor to each episode. One of the first episodes we see this happening is in the introduction of the harbinger of Spring, a strange looking character who has the face of an owl and travels around the area making sure the last vestiges of Winter are all put to rest. He makes an appearance at Makoto’s new home to welcome them to the family and winds up scaring Chinatsu. He winds up being both an interesting character and a bit of an insight into the world that Flying Witch is trying to create. His very presence gives us clues into how this world of magic functions.

1. Sarah - 2/5 stars - I was really excited to go on the Magical Treehouse Merlin Excursion, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The treehouse was not as magical as advertised, and it looked quite run-down. The excursion itself was disorganized, with our guide Merlin seeming more interested in his own stories than actually showing us around. The activities planned were also lackluster and didn't live up to the expectations. Overall, I would not recommend this excursion to anyone looking for a truly magical experience.
2. John - 1/5 stars - The Magical Treehouse Merlin Excursion was a complete waste of time and money. The treehouse was nothing more than a regular cabin in the woods, and there was nothing magical about it. Our guide, Merlin, was unenthusiastic and seemed to be just going through the motions. The activities were poorly planned and executed, with no real theme or purpose. It felt like a rushed and half-hearted attempt at creating a magical experience. I would strongly advise against booking this excursion if you're looking for anything remotely magical or enjoyable.

The activities provided were also lackluster, not capturing the essence of magic or excitement. Overall, I was disappointed with this excursion and would not recommend it to others seeking a truly magical experience.
4. Michael - 1/5 stars - The Magical Treehouse Merlin Excursion was a total letdown. The treehouse was dilapidated and in need of desperate repairs. Our guide Merlin was apathetic and unenthusiastic, showing no real passion for the excursion or engaging with the tourists. The activities were uninteresting and felt like a waste of time. The excursion lacked any real magic or charm, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for an enjoyable experience. Save your money and find a better magical adventure elsewhere.
