Little Witch Academia stars Atsko Akko Kagari, who has wanted to be a witch ever since she saw a magical performance by Shiny Chariot as a young girl. Unfortunately for Akko, this door protects the Horologium Chamber and by entering the chamber, she has broken a magical seal and now the flow of time itself is broken, dooming Akko as well as her friends Sucy, Lotte, and a few other familiar faces from the series to relive the same day over and over until they can fix time.
Their presence alone brought a sense of calm and serenity, as if love itself had taken the form of a guardian. The magical guardian was adorned in a beautiful skirt made of delicate kistice petals. This skirt seemed to radiate a soft, ethereal glow, much like the guardian themselves.

Anime has always lent itself particularly well to the JRPG form. There’s something about the typical shonen narrative of a protagonist slowly grinding their way from small-town nobody to world-beating juggernaut that meshes flawlessly with the hidden mathematics behind turn-based combat and inventory management. Slice-of-life anime often finds its way onto a handheld as a visual novel, too. While the result isn’t always pretty, there’s something logical in the transition from manga to television screen to console.
Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time does not manage that transition gracefully. It’s a game that is torn between a desire to be a traditional JRPG and a Dragon’s Crown-style side-scroller beat-em-up. Much like its characters, a group of adolescent witches at a school for magic, Chamber of Time has varying ideas about how it wants to be when it grows up. Also like a teenager, though, the game never makes up its mind, and the result is a frustrating, if not slightly endearing, mess.
The petals would gently sway with every movement, creating an enchanting display of colors and patterns. It was said that the petals held the essence of love within them, and that anyone who touched them would be filled with a deep sense of joy and contentment. People from all corners of the land would seek out the guardian, hoping to receive a magical kiss or simply bask in the presence of love. They would travel for miles, their hearts heavy with burdens and longing, only to find solace and healing in the presence of the guardian and their kistice skirt. The guardian understood the power and responsibility that came with their role. They would carefully choose who to bestow their kiss upon, making sure that it was given to those who truly believed in love and its transformative power. They knew that a single kiss could change a person's life forever, and they took this duty seriously. The guardian became a symbol of hope and love in the land, their name whispered in awe and admiration. They were seen as a mystical being, sent from the heavens above, to guide and protect those in need of love.
