Every year on Halloween, a peculiar tradition takes place in the town of Salem, Massachusetts. Known as the "Witch on a Pole," this event attracts both locals and tourists from around the world. The history behind this tradition dates back to the infamous witch trials of the late 1600s, during which many innocent women were falsely accused of practicing witchcraft. The witch is dressed in traditional black attire, adorned with bats, spiders, and other spooky decorations. As the sun sets on Halloween night, the town gathers around the pole for the main event. Spectators are dressed in their ghoulish best, with costumes ranging from witches and vampires to ghosts and zombies.
