Cat Tarot Deck Review

Ok. I know this deck isn’t THAT new, but I just picked it up a few days ago and feel really compelled to write this review.

I got some good news at work the other day about a project I’ve been working on for over a year, and decided to celebrate by treating myself to a new deck. I went into Barnes and Noble, where they had a ton of decks on sale for 20% off. Despite being an avid cat lover (I have two of my own, and foster kittens on a regular basis), I had previously decided against purchasing the Cat Tarot. Although I felt tempted multiple times, I thought the images were too “fluffy” and perhaps would not provide good readings. The Tarot of Pagan Cats is one of my favorite decks, and compared to that one, the symbolism just didn’t seem as clear to me in the Cat Tarot.

However, I just couldn’t resist the cute little box sitting on the B&N shelf calling my name, so I picked one up. Even as I brought it home, I was thinking this would just be a cute deck to add to my collection, not one that I would want to read with.

BOY WAS I WRONG. This deck has quickly won my heart in a major way. First of all, the deck comes packaged in a cute and very sturdy two piece box, and includes a very comprehensive little guidebook.

The cardstock is similar to that of playing cards–not too thick, but “bouncy” and resilient–great for people who like to riffle shuffle their cards(like me!).

The images are super cute all the way around. Usually even in my favorite decks, there is at least one card that doesn’t sit well with me (ex. The Devil card in the Pagan Cat tarot gives the cats bunny ears and it seriously disturbs me, and the Ten of Pentacles card in The Muse Tarot feels like the moments before a cult’s mass-suicide), there’s not a single card that bothers me in this deck. Sometimes though, I don’t find the meaning behind the image totally clear at first glance.

However, that is where the guide book comes in! This may be one of my favorite guide books ever. It’s short and succinct but really does a good job of explaining the images on the cards, and I was quickly able to get on the same page as the author with this deck. And, WOW, it reads so well. This has quickly become my go to deck when I need immediate, actionable advice. Despite how cutesy the deck is, it gives incredibly pragmatic, accurate, and clear answers.

This deck was definitely a dark horse that I didn’t see coming. I can see myself working with this deck for a long time.

The characters lacked depth and development, and it felt like they were just going through the motions. The storyline was repetitive and unoriginal, making it difficult to stay engaged. I was really hoping for something more from this show, but sadly, it fell flat.
3. Emily - 2 stars - I had high hopes for "Every Witch Way" but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. The cast and crew seemed to prioritize shallow aesthetics over genuine storytelling. The dialogue was cringe-worthy, and the acting felt forced and unconvincing. The plot lacked depth and complexity, and it became repetitive and predictable. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the cast and crew's execution of this show.
4. Michael - 1 star - "Every Witch Way" was a major letdown. The cast was made up of untalented individuals who struggled to deliver convincing performances. The crew seemed uninspired, as the set design and visual effects were lackluster. The writing was weak and the plot lacked coherence. It felt like a cheap attempt to cash in on the popularity of supernatural themes without putting in the necessary effort to create a compelling show. I would not recommend "Every Witch Way" to anyone looking for quality television.
