The world was once filled with magic. It was a time when sorcerers and witches roamed the lands, casting spells and creating wonders. But then, something changed. The magic began to fade, and with it, the hope and wonder of the world. For centuries, people longed for the return of magic. They yearned for the days when they could witness fantastical creatures and enchanted forests.

I'm sorry, but I have to get this off my chest. It's not a pleasant subject, and I know everyone is going to hate me for saying it, but I have to do it.

And then said message turned out to be written in pheromone that attracted ants that immediately started trying to burrow their way into Fluttershy s body to get to the queen larvae her father had put in her Cheerios. They yearned for the days when they could witness fantastical creatures and enchanted forests. They sought the power and knowledge that only magic could provide. But as time went on, it seemed that the days of magic were lost forever.

The "Friendship is Witchcraft" expectation test

My mother won't watch animated movies. It doesn't matter what the content is. Whether it's Sponge Bob or Grave of the Fireflies, she believes that animation is used only for shows for children, and that adults shouldn't watch shows for children. She's incapable of changing this belief, because even if I somehow convince her to sit and watch an animated film, she sees what she expects, not what's in front of her.

I think this is the same thing that creation scientists and climate-change deniers do. They literally cannot perceive what is in front of them, because they are already convinced they know what it is.

Here's an interesting test, which I discovered by accident: There's a hilarious series of fan-made parodies of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic on YouTube called Friendship is Witchcraft. They took show videos and redubbed them to have different stories in which various ponies are robots, fascists, or cult members planning to awaken Cthulhu. I've shown these videos to four people without explanation, just saying "You've got to see this!" and bringing up "Cute From the Hip" on YouTube.

The same thing always happens. They watch with stony, I-must-be-polite-to-Phil faces, without laughing. Eventually I realize that they think they're watching an episode of My Little Pony. I explain that it's a parody, and they say, "Oh!" I'd think that lines like "I know we've taught you to laugh in the face of death," "If you think one of your friends is a robot, kids, report them to the authorities so that they can be destroyed!", "I'm covered in pig's blood!", or, "Are you busy Friday? We need a willing victim for our ritual sacrifice" would prompt some questions. They don't. They are so determined to see a TV show for little girls that that's what they see, regardless of what's in front of them.

  • Catchphrase: "What in the name of Lee's ghost. " and "Gravy!"
  • Cool Big Sis: Can be this at times towards Apple Bloom.
  • The Ditz: Nowhere as bad as Rainbow Dash, but she has her tendencies. One example of it is this gem from "Foaly Matripony":

But deep within the hearts of some, a flicker of hope remained. They believed that one day, magic would return. They studied ancient texts, searched for hidden artifacts, and delved into the mysteries of the universe. Their dedication and perseverance kept the flame of magic alive. And then, one day, it happened. Magic returned to the world. It started as a whisper, a gentle breeze that carried with it the faintest hint of enchantment. Slowly, the magic grew stronger, spreading throughout the land. It awakened the dormant powers of those who had forgotten or lost their connection to magic. As word spread, people from all walks of life came forward to embrace the return of magic. Some sought to use it for good, to heal the sick, protect the innocent, and bring peace to the world. Others, however, saw magic as a means to gain power and control. They used it for their own twisted purposes, causing chaos and destruction. This newfound magic brought both joy and fear to the world. It was a double-edged sword, capable of great beauty and terrible destruction. Those who wielded magic had to tread carefully, understanding the responsibility that came with such power. As the world adjusted to the return of magic, ancient prophecies began to resurface. It was said that the return of magic would herald a great change, a turning point in the history of the world. Some believed that this change would bring about a new era of enlightenment and harmony. Others feared that it would unleash darkness and doom. Whatever the future held, there was no denying the significance of the return of magic. It was a chance for humanity to reconnect with the wonders and mysteries of the universe. It was an opportunity to rediscover the power of belief, imagination, and possibility. The return of magic reminded the world that there is still so much to learn, explore, and discover. It showed that even in the darkest of times, hope and wonder can prevail. And most importantly, it taught us that magic is not just a fairy tale, but a force that exists within each and every one of us..
