Once upon a time, in a small fishing village, there lived a poor fisherman named Jack. He and his wife Mary struggled to make ends meet, with Jack often coming home with an empty net. 1 Dot. Diagnostics: The Technocrat knows how the DNA of both normal Earth life and Alien life functions. They can determine, record, and analyze that DNA in order to know the properties of living things and how they function. A combination of advanced skill and experience lets them do this in a fraction of the time Sleepers require for such tasks. Further, they understand how such things get sick or injured and how to heal them. (At 1 dot, this lets you get bonus dice to Medicine checks.) Your awareness of how your own body functions enables you to improve those functions temporarily (bonus dice for physical actions).
2 Dots. Mastery of Microbial Life. You can synethesize, alter, or destroy microbial life forms and viruses. This lets you induce or cure diseases in more complicated life forms. You can adjust the internal biome of creatures to deal with problems related to that or to *cause* problems like gastric distress. In conjunction with Material Science, you can create microbes which devour various material substances, like plastic or oil.
3 Dots. Student of Visible Life. You can now manipulate unintelligent life forms - plants and animals. You can change their qualities, but not their fundamental nature. (You can make a zebra purple but you can't make it fly). You can injure or heal non-intelligent life; you can also heal yourself.
4 Dots. Human Biology Today. You can change the physical qualities of intelligent life forms, including healing or injuring them. With Material Science, you can make cyborgs.
5 Dots. Master of Biology. You can now change the very nature of creatures, adding wings to a pig or elevating Dolphins to full intelligence. (However, this requires use of Psychology if you want them to know anything.). You can also make copies of life forms. This may require use of Psychology to copy memories and knowledge to the clone.
With a turn s observation, they can learn another s Nature, and sense the presence of any other active minds in the area, as long as they can observe at least one individual. It might also give Syndicate Void Engineer teams a weird combined capacity to negotiate with spirits and other eldritch entities, giving the two a more firm connection to each other.
