What will she teach?

You'll learn a lot of DIY gimmicks and pure sleight of hand that are super visual and your audiences will remember for a lifetime.

Layers- A revealed card is peeled by the spectator where they find that their own face, signature, or virtually anything else you want is printed inside the card. The possibilities are endless. Simply put, this is worth the price of the lecture.

Sponsored- A bottle cap is removed from the top of the bottle, slammed through the bottom and ends up back on top. Once you see this effect you will want to do this right away.

Ring Routine- This is a visual routine with a ton of impressive moves. It's an attention grabber.

Bill Switch for an Omnibill Routine- A normal dollar bill is folded and when it is unfolded, it is transparent. Nobody sees this coming. Ekaterina will talk about experimenting with new materials and exploring your own strengths and knowledge base when working with another performer's effects.

Chicago Opener- A card is selected and returned to the deck. The back of the selected card changes color, then the face of the card changes to a different selection. You can ramp up the power level of the effect by using the Layers gimmick to leave your audience with an impossible souvenir.

Jumping Gemini- A classic transformation and transposition effect that Ekaterina has performed to land gigs with international brands.

Fox Tail- The evolution of one of Ekaterina's most famous sleights: Agape.

You get an approx 55 min streaming video, which has an absolute ton of info / ideas to achieve various effects using this system, it also includes some essential card sleights that most will already know, but is very useful to newbs.
the teaching is excellent throughout, and I think almost everyone will learn something useful with regard to card crafts.
if you really hate or don't have time to split cards then you can buy already split cards from Ekaterina, which is I believe the first time such a 'deck' has been made available.
she must of spent hours doing those. very useful for many things other than the layers effect/system.
i would guess that some people will have to buy other things to achieve the effects, so its maybe not a case of buy and then go out and perform.
the gold 'leaf' idea and her teaching is great stuff, I didn't know how to do it for sure.
everything is covered, even if you are not good at drawing. all of it requires PS of some sort, which for most will be done way before the effect, though Ekaterina does mention how she did it more 'on the fly', again, its all covered in detail, but that is really for working pro's with assistants
if you like the effects, and like messing around with arts and craft, this will be right up your street, it really does get the mind buzzing with ideas.
i would of preferred a download with ideally an index / chapter as there is so much stuff on it, but y'know its not a big deal really.
is it worth the money? yep, as long as you like arts and crafts. it is not an 'impromptu' effect, which I guess most have already worked out.

If you have gimmicks or what not set up, can you go up to any spectator and have them sign the card and do the effect? Or is pre show work for their signature required? If it is something that can't be answered, no worries (:

@codydavismagic The signature version does require pre-show. Some of my pre-show takes minutes with the help of assistants, but that's for TV or fancy events. for my regular gigs, I have everything I need prepped way ahead of time, so there is less things to think about. Lately, I have been exclusively performing gold layers version as top management at my gigs preferred that version over the signature one you have to remember, we don't always perform for magicians.

Hope this answers your question.
thanks
Ekat

Product description: Ekaterina is an internationally renowned magician from Moscow, Russia. Gaining fame from her independently produced YouTube videos, she has since been featured on numerous television networks, including The CW, The History Channel, SyFy, and ITV. She’s had the opportunity to perform her signature card effect ‘Layers’ on multiple occasions, including to Penn and Teller, which is quite nice 🙂. This effect consists of a reveal in between the 2 layers of a single playing card. The reveal itself can be anything you want: a signature, a word, a picture, a drawing, a number, etc. This product is a 1 hour long streaming video in which she explains all the subtleties, variations and why this effect is a reputation maker. Let’s dive right into this review.

Price and where to buy it: This is sold at $29.95 and you can find it on her website : https://ekatmagic.com/. But you can get 15% off with the code : ALEXIS15 so it’s quite cool I think.

What you get: You get a one hour long video in which Katerina goes into everything you need to know and master in order to perform this miracle. I strongly advise you to also buy 52 split cards which she also sells on her website, it will make your life so much easier. And you may also need something which begins by R.C., so go get some before you receive the trick, you’ll be all set up to make the gimmicks. The gimmicks are easy to make and they really depend on which routine you want to perform, Ekaterina likes to produces gold foil pictures inside the card which look gorgeous but you can also do the signature which will go through the card. For the last one, it’s better to perform it for a celebrity, but you can get away with someone you’ll be working for. Overall, this is more a principle than a trick and you can then imagine all the possibilities you have with it.

The pros and the cons: Here is the core of my review, let's begin with the cons, as I will usually be doing, I prefer to keep the good things for the end.

THE CONS:
- You have to prepare every single gimmick in order to perform this. I think we should not call them gimmicks but refills because you’ll use one at every performance.
- You have to setup your layer gimmick before you go and perform at a gig, you can’t really do it on the fly (even if Ekaterina shows you a way to, but it’s not really practical in my opinion).

THE PROS:
- I think the main pro is the routine in itself: spectators will find something INSIDE a card, and it can be their birthdate, the name of their father, anything !
- The signature one is one of the strongest, it will require a bit of preparation but can play very very strong if done correctly.
- The gimmicks are really easy to make, even if you have no experience in making gimmicks.
- The video is amazingly shot, Ekaterina always produces amazing videos and this is no exception.
- For the gold foil production, you’ll need another tool, as well as a printer.
- It’s an impossible souvenir they can keep forever, you just made something appear inside the layers of the card, how can you top that ?

Overall rating: This principle is really clever and leave a lot room for your own presentation, I definitely think you should pick this up if you like it, you won’t be disappointed, 4/4 hearts.

As for the difficulty level, making the gimmick is easy and you just have to force a card (or make 52 gimmicks if you want to push it to the boundaries ^^) 2/5 stars.

Similar products: This is quite a unique revelation, I haven’t seen something like this.

As the series progresses, Robin learns more about her own abilities and the responsibility that comes with them. Another important aspect of the series is the examination of morality and the gray areas between good and evil. The STNJ often questions if they are truly doing the right thing by hunting down witches, making viewers question their own beliefs about justice and morality.

In conclusion, Witch Hunter Robin is a thought-provoking anime series that explores themes of power, morality, and identity. It offers an intriguing storyline and well-developed characters, making it an engaging watch for fans of supernatural and psychological anime..

Reviews for "The Legacy of Witch Hunter Robin: Its Influence on Anime and Supernatural TV Shows"

1. Sarah - 2/5 stars - I was really excited to watch "Witch Hunter Robin" after hearing so many positive reviews, but it left me disappointed. I found the plot to be confusing and convoluted. It seemed like they were trying to incorporate too many elements into the story, and it ended up being a jumbled mess. Additionally, I found the characters to be lackluster and underdeveloped. I couldn't connect with any of them or care about their motivations. Overall, I felt like "Witch Hunter Robin" had a lot of potential, but it failed to deliver on its promises.
2. Mike - 1/5 stars - I couldn't get past the first few episodes of "Witch Hunter Robin". The pacing was incredibly slow, and I found myself getting bored easily. The animation style was also not to my liking, with its dull and uninspiring visuals. The story didn't grab my attention either, as I felt it lacked originality and creativity. I understand that the show is supposed to be dark, but it was just too gloomy and depressing for my taste. Overall, "Witch Hunter Robin" was a letdown for me, and I would not recommend it to others.
3. Emily - 2/5 stars - I have mixed feelings about "Witch Hunter Robin". While the concept of witches and the supernatural sounded intriguing, the execution fell flat for me. The plot was slow-paced and often felt disjointed. The characters, although they had potential, lacked depth and development. I also struggled with the animation and art style, finding it drab and unappealing. However, I did appreciate the atmospheric soundtrack that helped to create a moody ambiance. Overall, "Witch Hunter Robin" didn't live up to my expectations, and I may have enjoyed it more if it had been executed differently.
