Controllers of spells

Hi,
i would like to know if the controller works the same way as in Magicka 1 for spells,
you had to move the right stick in one direction to open a set of 2 elements, hold it, then move it in another direction to select the element you wanted, it was very slow and clunky :/
Is it the same in Magicka 2 ?
thank you

Nope, the system is completely different.

The elements are bound to the four buttons of your controller (X, Y, A, B) and you cycle through them by holding the LB (four buttons x2 cycles = eight elements)

Still it's easier with a keyboard but it's a lot better than the controls of magicka 1!

"Snappier", as in dumbed down.

Just thought I'd clarify that for those who actually liked the rewarding, fighting game input -like mechanics of the first game. 👍

It was pretty cool to be able to conjure spells with the controller, and it was not too bad when you got (quite some) practice with it. I guess you could call it "dumped down", if you love the effort of casting the spells the old controller way.

I mean just compare the inputs! These are the controlls you need to cast 5 cold elements:

Magicka 1 controller setup:
here i say CC to mean 1 quarter counter clockwise turn with the right stick
here i say R to mean move the right stick to the right

R CC R CC R CC R CC R CC

Magicka 2 controller setup:
Hold Left shoulderbutton and press BBBBB

Magicka mouse + keyboard controlls:
RRRRR
