Investigators work to find cause of cabinet store fire
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The North Charleston Fire Department urged people with breathing problems to avoid the area of a fire Tuesday afternoon at a cabinet store.
Police responded to a call at approximately 1 p.m. at the Brock Cabinets building in the 7500 block of Sandlapper Parkway off Ashley Phosphate Road.
Firefighters warned of lots of smoke in the area that could make breathing difficult for people who has asthma or other breathing issues.

At 12:58 p.m., 911 operators received a call about a fire on the dock of a warehouse on Sandlapper Parkway.
North Charleston fire officials said first arriving firefighters reported heavy smoke coming from a metal commercial building.
“Employees reported that all personnel had evacuated,” NCFD officials said. “A second alarm was called, totaling 18 apparatus on scene. The bulk of the fire was extinguished and crews searched the interior and extinguished hot spots.”
According to NCFD officials, one firefighter was transported by EMS for a minor injury. A fire investigation is in progress.
North Charleston, Charleston, and St. Andrews Fire Departments responded to the call along with Charleston County EMS, Dorchester County EMS, and Charleston County Rescue Squad.
