The Catwoman Curse: Why Has No Catwoman Film Been Truly Successful?

By admin

Catwoman is a well-known character in the DC Comics universe, often appearing as a villain and occasional anti-hero alongside Batman. However, there seems to be a curse associated with playing this iconic role. The curse of Catwoman began with the 1966 Batman TV series, where the character was portrayed by Julie Newmar. After her time as Catwoman, Newmar struggled to find substantial acting roles and became typecast as the seductive feline villain. The curse continued with Eartha Kitt, who portrayed Catwoman in the same TV series after Newmar. Kitt faced similar challenges in her career and experienced difficulties in finding diverse roles outside of the Catwoman persona.
