- Mary - 2 stars - I was really disappointed with "When the rune sparkles in the month of September". The characters were shallow and underdeveloped, and the plot felt like it was all over the place. I couldn't connect with any of the characters, and I found myself getting bored and confused several times throughout the book. I was hoping for a thrilling and engaging read, but unfortunately, this book just didn't deliver.
