Trevor Belmont: Curse of Darkness Trevor Belmont is a character from the Castlevania series, specifically in the game "Castlevania: Curse of Darkness." This game is set three years after the events of "Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse" and follows the story of Trevor Belmont, a member of the Belmont clan who is on a quest to defeat the curse of darkness that plagues the land. In the game, Trevor Belmont is depicted as a stoic and determined warrior who wields his family's signature weapon, the Vampire Killer whip. He is aided by various allies throughout his journey, including a Devil Forgemaster named Hector and a mysterious witch named Julia. The curse of darkness referred to in the game's title is a mysterious force that has overtaken the land, causing demons to roam freely and wreak havoc. Trevor Belmont, being a member of the legendary vampire-hunting Belmont clan, feels a sense of duty to vanquish this curse and restore peace to the land.

A great war raged between Dracula and humanity. Just when it seemed that there was no hope for mankind to prevail, out of the darkness and despair, a champion arose -- a true-blooded vampire hunter named Trevor Belmont.

His Destruction Item Crash appeared in the Japanese beta of 2018 and in the Apple store definitive version of the game he performs his Lightning Kicks and a more powerful, spectacular version of the Grand Cross that fills half of the screen.

Throughout the game, Trevor encounters a wide variety of enemies and bosses, each more challenging than the last. He must navigate treacherous levels, solve puzzles, and ultimately face off against the mastermind behind the curse of darkness, Dracula himself.

Castlevania: Curse of Darkness acknowledges the fact that Belmonts developed, improved magical abilities to fight the forces of darkness besides their powerful Vampire Killer whip inherited by the founder, Leon Belmont -from Lament of Innocence to CVIII’s era- so Trevor was feared due to them as we see in the intro of Castlevania III, and in CoD he explicitly shows why.

Trevor in his boss battles uses many of Leon’s magical abilities from Lament of Innocence as references without having to rely on relics! for example, the fire tackle ability from the Lucifer’s sword relic.

The trademark special ability of the Belmonts, the Grand Cross, is also present. Leon created this Item Crash by combining the Yellow Orb and the Cross sub-weapon, and Trevor performs it summoning holy power.

He also becomes invulnerable for a short time with a glowing aura. This state references the Invincible Jar relic.

His multiple kicks on one leg attack is a reference to Leon’s Rapid Slash combining the Axe + the Black Orb. The move also bears a resemblance to Chun-Li’s Hyakuretsukyaku.

As a playable character he gains Leon’s Blade Serpent Item Crash, which was originally performed combining the Knife + the Black Orb.

And as a testament to his feared super-human strength he also gains the Destruction Item Crash, swinging a huge Axe and smashing it on the ground causing immense damage. It’s a special attack that Leon didn’t possess.

It’s sad that none of these attacks nor the fact that Trevor was more than an average human are in Netflixvania, yet Alucard references many special moves from SotN. You can tell that the directors are huge fanboys of Alucard and didn’t care for Trevor.

I’m happy to see that Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls makes canon these references to Lament of Innocence. They’re not only a reference from LoI, Trevor really inherited Leon’s magical abilities he performed in his adventure! just like Joseph inherited the hamon ability from Jonathan in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure when he was born.

In this game Trevor returns with some of his special moves from Curse of Darkness. His Destruction Item Crash appeared in the Japanese beta of 2018 and in the Apple store definitive version of the game he performs his Lightning Kicks and a more powerful, spectacular version of the Grand Cross that fills half of the screen! the developers really nailed Trevor’s personality and impressive powers. I believe Leon would be proud of his descendant who earned the “Legendary” status by becoming a great hunter as him, enhancing the Belmont magical powers he inherited and killing Dracula for the first time.

Ravaged by hideous plague and dire famine, the people's hearts turned black and murderous. The weak were slain without pity, while the land was pillaged and scourged without remorse.

The game features a deep and immersive storyline, showcasing the struggle between light and darkness, good and evil. Trevor Belmont's journey is not just a physical one but also a personal one, as he must confront his own demons and fears along the way. In conclusion, Trevor Belmont: Curse of Darkness is a captivating game that follows the adventures of Trevor Belmont as he battles against the curse of darkness. It is a story of courage, determination, and the eternal fight between good and evil.
