Craftsmanship and Creativity: Traditional Pagan Methods for Decorating Your Yule Log

By admin

Traditional pagan methods for creating a yule log Creating a yule log is a time-honored tradition that has its roots in pagan rituals. The yule log is a symbol of the winter solstice, marking the longest night of the year and the beginning of the return of the sun. The first step in creating a yule log is to find the right log. Traditional pagans believed that the log should come from a tree that had been struck by lightning, as they believed it possessed special powers. Other preferred logs from trees that were local to the area, as they believed this would bring good luck and protection to their home. Once the right log is found, it is important to prepare it for the ritual.

Just scummy . I don’t even care that I didn’t get a pair from them, I was prepared for that. It’s that 13 yo kid who I feel bad for.

But then around 9am , after people have lined up for hours an employee walks by and says go home you re wasting your time, with a smug look in his face. Once the right log is found, it is important to prepare it for the ritual. This involves stripping off the bark and smoothing the surface. Some pagans also choose to carve symbols or runes into the log, representing their intentions or desires for the coming year.

NYC and Jersey sneakerheads, please avoid Magic Sneakers shops. Another shady business doing shady things.

Not in the business of telling people to avoid a store because I got an L, but to my Bronx and Jersey heads, DO NOT SHOP AT MAGIC SNEAKERS.

The most disrespectful thing happened over there and not even for me. They told a little 13 year old kid and everyone else that they will have the shoes first come first serve at the Fordham location. Naturally people lined up. This poor 13 year old kid lined up since yesterday all alone in the damn Bronx. On FORDHAM. If you’re from New York you know how dangerous that is. They’ve seen him line up, they saw him enter and and ask, then even said in the phone to multiple people , first come first serve. But then around 9am , after people have lined up for hours an employee walks by and says “go home you’re wasting your time,” with a smug look in his face. Everyone is confused and of course we ask why, and when we asked why he took the smug face off and put on a puppy face. He said they did a raffle on Wednesday. Bold face lie. They were telling these kids in person and in phone that they were doing first come first serve just yesterday. No one in the line was having that. He kept saying “I’m sorry. I got you next time.” Then he said we have no pairs. Next he said we only have 5. Then he said we have 7. Then 10. Then he want back to none. But no matter the amount he continued to lie and say they did a raffle, which they did not. We suspected that the employees are just keeping the pairs for themselves to resell or to sell later for resell price.

To make matters worse, I go check their IG again and see that they made a fake account which has two followers (one being the damn store itself). I have proof. Commenting something like “thank you for the pair at 384 E Fordham best store ” . For starters nobody types like that. Second they exposed themselves for following the fake account with the store account. Third, NO ONE ON THE LINE WAS THEIR FOR A RAFFLE WIN. You would think if they had a raffle like the employees claim, that someone in that big group of people HAD to have been a raffle winner or heard of the raffle. This store is completely dishonest. They risked a kids safety for no reason. Had they been honest we could’ve just spent our time at Finishline a few blocks up instead. This store will never have my business and they shouldn’t have yours.

I posted this in NT just in case you saw it there as well. I'm personally glad I never gave them a dime. Tried to give them a shot and this happens I know the people who lined up before and after us won't be back there. I hope the employees, the managers, and the owner feel ashamed. It's one thing to be shady, it's another to put a child at risk, despite having multiple chances to warn him.

Traditional pagan methods for creating a yule log

**This carving process allows them to infuse the log with their energy and intentions**. Before the log is placed in the fireplace, it is often decorated with greenery such as holly, ivy, or mistletoe. These items are seen as symbols of fertility and growth, as they remain green even during the winter months. **The act of decorating the log is a way of connecting with nature and inviting its energy and blessings into the home**. Once the log is prepared and decorated, it is time for the ritual itself. Many pagans choose to light the log during the winter solstice ceremony, which typically takes place on December 21st or 22nd. **The lighting of the log symbolizes the return of the sun and the triumph of light over darkness**. It is often kindled using a piece of the previous year's yule log, ensuring that the flame is passed down from one year to the next. As the log burns, it is customary for participants to gather around the fireplace and share stories, songs, and prayers. **This communal act of celebrating the yule log represents the gathering of loved ones and the sharing of warmth and love during the coldest part of the year**. In conclusion, the traditional pagan methods for creating a yule log involve finding the right log, preparing it with intention and carving, decorating it with greenery, lighting it during the winter solstice ceremony, and gathering around the fire to share in the celebration. **These rituals are a way for pagans to connect with nature, celebrate the return of the sun, and bring warmth and love into their homes**..

Reviews for "Keeping the Flame Alive: Traditional Pagan Techniques for Burning the Yule Log"

I was really excited to try the traditional pagan methods for creating a yule log, but this book was a huge disappointment. The instructions were unclear and poorly written, making it difficult to follow along. The author assumes that the reader has prior knowledge and experience in pagan rituals, which was not the case for me. Overall, I found the book to be confusing and unhelpful.

I was hoping to learn the art of creating a yule log using traditional pagan methods, but this book fell short of my expectations. The information provided was very basic and lacked depth. I was looking for more detailed instructions and insights into the meaning and symbolism behind the process, but the book only scratched the surface. I believe there are better resources out there for those interested in this subject.

As someone who is interested in exploring pagan traditions, I was excited to find a book specifically focused on creating a yule log. However, I was left feeling underwhelmed after reading this. The book lacked substance and failed to provide any unique or innovative ideas for yule log creation. The author simply rehashed common knowledge that can easily be found online. I was hoping for a more in-depth exploration of the topic, but unfortunately, this book did not deliver what I was looking for.

I found "Traditional pagan methods for creating a yule log" to be a complete waste of time. The book was poorly organized, with random information thrown together without any clear structure. The author's writing style was also quite uninspiring and lacked enthusiasm. It felt like a chore to read through this book, and I gained no useful knowledge or insight from it. I would not recommend it to anyone interested in learning about yule log creation using pagan methods.
